Interesting things noticed with a crew of one!

In a Krait with only 2 jumps of fuel most of the time there is a lot of call for asking people for fuel. And the worst to ask have to be Zidaras - the whole thing with them being all dramatic comes through even in that aspect.. whereas most ships will ask for about 6000 at the most, Zidaras with their obviously more severe mood swings are quite happy to demand 14000! Anyone else noticed that?

Also, I started out planning to work for both Zidagar and Igadzra, but finished for the Zidagar first so the Igadzra thought of me rather poorly. I had got it so that I just needed a mission to Igadzra - for which I had the cargo space - but none ever were offered. And then I found something of a magic system - DSN-2015 just by Iothe - where there are almost always human renegade ships, and Igadzra ships! And to my surprise, when I got to killing the human renegades my rating in the Igadzra systems shot up, and before long I was welcome in all their systems but Innirian and Ersadt, and got to continue their missions.

I didn't realise the Igadzra were so affected by the human renegades - I thought they would more likely react to me killing south tip ones. But effectively, it means you can be welcome in about 2/3 of the crescent without too much trouble if you don't side with the Igadzra. I think making the Azdgari accepting of me again would be far harder!

It also seems as though the Igazra is smarter than other ships in terms of resisting the monty python. They seem to have far greater range than other crescent ships with their phase turrets, which means you are hard pressed to get close enough to pull it off! I think it could be something to do with the shape of the ship - a rather long axis and a rather short one, so it becomes deceptive just how far away from each part you really are - but if other ships would do similar then it would be far more uncomfortable to be in a Krait or any fighter! And yet they still can't take out Azdaras very well :frown:.

Well.. that was all fun - there's probably more I could say, but it's 11pm around here - and that's probably enough for my 200th post :).

I think if I did the Crew of One challenge I'd want a Crescent Fighter, and later on
an Azdara.

But if Igazras are hard to Monty Python, then that means that the nebula missions are
impossible, as you have to fight off an Igazra in your tiny ship.

I suppose playing as Azdgari it might be easy enough, but I've never had much success
spearing Igazras in Crescent Fighters - the only way I know of the destroy an Igazra
in that type of ship with no support is to SHADOW it, which is even more cheating than
the Monty Python.

No azdaras in the crew of one challenge....

and yeah, I can imagine that killing Igazras would be kinda tough... almost impossible. They have turrets, for one... and the turrets can shoot further than the entire screen... so, an Igazra could be out of your view, but still hitting you with phase fire.

Yeah, that was the problem.. I'm not sure I could have taken the Igazra in the nebulae missions in my Krait. In my CF I had enough room for a needle missile launcher, and 250 missiles, which really helped - and then I just made several charges with my nice armour, and eventually got it. But it was certainly the only ship type that gave that sort of resistance! I was wondering if maybe they gain range with the extra turrets - because CWs didn't do what they did.. and Voinian Cruisers sure didn't.

Flatulence, you can get around that with a higher resolution.
