Well, I think i would earn a few mill on the fertilizer trade (well more like a few hundred K) then go and become a bugsplat on some voinian's windshield. Obviously i would be attempting to kill it, but i really doubt that my pathetic generic UE Fighter (too poor to upgrade) would make a dent in a Voinian Frigate, esp. since Python wouldn't work.
------------------
I would fly my shiny Arada over to the Emalgha system, and become their God. I would have my pick at all the Emalgha women (I sure hope they don't have tentacles or something) and would be their honored leader.
Either that or I'd smuggle Brandy to Freeport.

I would be a Miranu med student from Himgro and eventually find a cure for the plague on New Calcutta.

I would fly a Lazira, and do mostly cargo missions and non-combat stuff, but I would be well defended and sometimes attack & board renegades. Woohoo! 500 posts!

I'd maybe work up enough credits and knowledge of the galaxy to get myself a nicely upgraded Miranu Courier - then I could do some long range Voinian Space intelligence missions for UE, and maybe they'd give me one of their nifty cloaking devices and some fuel scoops to help out :).
Hopefully that would all lead to some change in the UE-Voinian war, and when my help was no longer needed, I'd go and do some work for the Miranu, and end up exploring the nebulae, and being in charge of the colonization of F-25, and probably end up with a position of leadership there. I could probably persuade some Igadzra to come and set up there too - I'd put out some adverts on the UE Network about it. I think they'd like it there given that it's far away from other people :).
I would probably try to get a job aboard a civilian, merchant vessel like a Freight-courier.
Heh. I just noticed that Stud Beefpile said almost the exact same thing...

I'd be the famous fighter pilot who dominates the galaxy, names himself Emperor, and then goes joyriding in his trusty Azdara.

Keep in mind that if EVO were real, you would have your whole life ahead of you, and probably do many things in that time. Also you would be shaped by the events in your life. So although you might intend to work as a peaceful courier for Frontier Express, if your ship got blown up by Voinians or Renegades once too often, you might find yourself angry enough to go on a vendetta.
Personally, I think I would start out going to a university to study something unrelated to piloting, like history. But my interest in space and my entrepreneurial spirit would drive me to save up money for a shuttle of my own. In order to make that money and get experience in space I would probably serve as a crew member on a small trading vessel for a while. Eventually I would get a shuttle and start doing courier missions. I would probably float around doing that for some time while trying to figure out what to do long term. After all, you can support yourself quite comfortably doing only 1 or 2 rush deliveries a month. 24k creds is a lot for one month at today's scale, or at the scale of a society in which a spaceworthy vessel can be purchased for only 10k.
After some time I would probably begin to establish a trading empire, first hiring ships to travel with my fleet, and eventually expanding to running multiple fleets around UE space. At that rate I could very quickly begin pulling in millions of creds a year. But I would always remain at the helm of my own ship. I can't quite trust anyone else to have as much piloting skill as me. Plus I would dedicate myself to becoming a better pilot (hyperspace allows for quite a bit of time in the combat sim).
Eventually, humans would begin relations with the Miranu. Although I would be unlikely to set up the initial negotiations (travelling around in a scoutship at the farthest reaches of known space gets awful lonely), I would quickly become interested in expanding to trade with them. I would also start adopting some of their technology and adding some of their bulk freighters to my fleets.
With my trading empire now firmly established, I would likely leave the daily tasks of running things to one of my most trusted associates, and spend most of my time tooling around in my private ship, probably a Lazira. Let the lawyers sort out the inevitable legal battles with Stellar Corp.
As my ambition knows no bounds, when I encountered the Zidagar and their remarkable drama, I would begin to import Zidagar theater to the humans and start to become very involved in the world of entertainment... for both races.
In my travels I would become very interested in the Zachit, and (since by now I am somewhat eccentric and rich enough to do as I please) I would attempt to build my skills so I could join their ranks. Then I would throw some of my considerable financial support behind the activities of the Zachit.
As I got a little older and was out of the fiery days of my youth, I would begin to give credits to various charities. I would also start my own, which would be a foundation to assist the Strandless.
The truth is that in the universe of EVO it is pretty easy to make money (if you don't get killed). And once you have all this money (in any universe) you can either live quietly and unknown, or you can embrace your pseudo-celebrity status and be involved in many important events. I would choose the latter.

Ths may sound pathetic
I would design a new ship for the UE which would wipe out the "V" people who I like but they wouldn't pay a "Human" I would then buy the Savvas Station and start a new group called the Federation, then I would build Enterprize E. Oh No. Help. I am trapped in a star Trek based world.

I would join the Emalgha navy and fight for freedom, whenever Iw as hailed I would say: "Freedom is addictive, isn't it?" And I would buy an escape pod for my entire crew, we would fight over and over again until we finally get to make another offensive.

I would work for the UE, and I would proably start exploring the realms of space as soon as I could get a Freight-Couriot, a few weapons, and a few Feul Scoops. Then I would side with whatever strand asked me for help first, not knowing what i was getting into unless it was too late to remail nuteral, unless I ran into a merchant that told me about the strand war.
In that case, I would go investigate. After deciding that it was pretty much a stalemate, I would proably go to to Zidigar. If you read the EVO documentation, the Zidigar are the most similar to the humans of all the alien races. I would offer them my help and once they were greatly indebted to me I would ask them to make an alliance with the UE - with Human Armor, the Zidigar would gain considerable advantage in the strand war, with Zidigar Engines and Shields, the UE would really start kicking the Voinian's ass.

I'd start as a Zidagar - can I?
Pilot a Zidara, the Z.S.S Topaz, and fight against the Strands without an escape pod. I'd fight alongside Rima, who said the same thing earlier, and together we'd crush Igazras easily.
Or maybe not...........................

I'd have studied biology at whichever planet I came from, and then, when the Miranu had beed discovered, I would have become one of the greatest xenobiology experts on the Miranu. I'd probably move to Blaga, for a few years at least. A nice, interesting and above all, safe job!
No raging renegades or vicious voinians for me, no sir!

Actually, I'll fill mine in a bit more:
I'd be a Zidagar, but a low class one. I wouldn't be accepted into their ranks, and I'd travel west to the Miranu aboard a ship that carries passengers. There I'd work as a scientist's apprentice for several years, until I became a full scale scientist. I'd help develop the Miranu Gunship, and then move on to pilot a Miranu Courier when I was 29.
I'd make millions in and around Miranu space, staying out of trouble until I bought an Arada. After that I'd risk places such as Hizdriar, and work for the Zzchit for a while, as well as escorting freight convoys.
After making an enormous stockpile of wealth by the time I'd be 34, I go back to the Zidagar lands, where I'd come across a Zidara fighting an Azdgari Arada and Warship.
I'd destroy the Arada and self destruct into the warship, and the nature of my goods (dispersal rocket warheads) would result in me saving the day.
Afterwards, I'd work for the Zidagar and die in a battle against the I.S.S Subterfuge.

I'd settle down with a nice diplomatic job with the Miranu (or the Emalgha if that's the ONLY opportunity). There would be nothing better than being a diplomatic liason for UE dealings with the Miranu, I mean they're so neutral and innoffensive they're the galaxy's answer to Switzerland. With the possible exception of the Zachit, but the Swiss are well armed also.

Very simple: I'd be a UE Naval officer, most likley a fighter squadron commander that moves up to command a Destroyer group.

How would a fighter pilot end up in charge of a group of Destroyers?
After graduating from Space Academy I would wimp out and fly for the UE Navy rather than make it on my own. Odds are I'd die as a faceless UE fighter pilot flying against the Renegades of Voinians off a Carrier. Alternativly I would join Stellar Corp. and trade. War by myself. With my life at stake. No thankyou. What if a rocket hits the bridge or someone shoots your escape pod? Not for me.

I was just reading the replies here and someone said that with an escape pod you are immortal. If EVO was real, wouldn't you be able to shoot an escape pod? And by the way if it was real I'd start by making a living as a trader, then when I had enough credits I'd buy a ship that would be capable of taking on your ordinary renegades. Then I'd work my way up and eventually buy or try to capture the most powerful ship I could find.
