Does there exist any sort of description and/or sketch of what the alien races in EVO actually look like? What do we know from the game? Azdgari seem to be perpetually nervous, and they have sharp teeth... that's just about all I know. :rolleyes:
If nothing in this way has been done yet, I'd be glad to try my luck at devising and drawing a rough anatomical concept for each of the races...
Undoubtedly, there will be much arguing about the look of the races, since everyone seems to have his favorite species which he wants to look cooler than the others... I'm prepared for the flaming.
Anyway, in my conception of the EVO universe, most races are roughly humanoid in basic layout, except for the Voinians, which I imagine somewhat like the Shadows from Babylon 5. Does anyone knows the "Aquablue" comic book series? The native humanoids look more or less like my idea of the Miranu. I haven't thought about the others much... they prolly have a skin color to match their heraldic colors... Igadzra, coming from a 2-g-world, are likely to be of burly build, with angular features and a stoic face... while the Azdgari strike me as the light-framed type, perhaps with bat-like ears to match the sharp teeth... Zidagar? Dunno... Emalgha? Something exotic... they have a really weird planet after all...

All three strands are the same species, just different political fractions (if you don't belive me, check the documentation). The only reason they look slightly different is that they have been seperated for centuries. Just like people on eath look different. People from Asia, Africa, and Europe all look different, but are the same species.

The Voinians would be short and have very rough skin or fur.... because of the description of their homeworld. There, the gravity is high and the atmosphere is a "slow poison for most species, not much better for the Voinians either", meaning that they would be as un-amphibian and un-reptile like as possible (those creatures take in pollutants easily. So probably short with hard, rough skin.
The Miranu once visited earth 'supposedly' in those little flying saucers. So, they probably look like our modern conception of 'aliens'. Being, gray skin, black eyes... like the Roswell aliens and such... that's them.
As for the Strands, thee is little we can assume. They made "hissing" sounds and had sharp teeth. This of course leads me to believe that they are reptile/amphibian like... the opposite of the Voinians.
The Emalgha have 'elders'. They only species on earth that has leaders by age are mammals. And, they have that thick black glass on their ships. This leads me to think that they can't stand light or radiation very well. So they probably have skin or a light coat of fur, probably poor vision as well.

Oh, BTW: All Strands come from Gadzair, their Captial worlds are just the same name as their 'race'. Also, there are dozens of different species throughout EVO, most of which just live with the Miranu or Renegades it seems.

As long as we're discussing the various species in EVO, two things come to mind:
First, as Soviet Mikee said, there are a lot of minor races in the galaxy. In particular, the Zachit and the Renegades have lots of different members (the Zachit even have at least one from beyond the Crescent!), and the Voinians have lots of other slave races like the Hinwar.
Second, don't forget the one other named alien race that everyone forgets: the Kayians, the natives of the South Tip world of Akrayhek!

Im kinda in an agreement with you. Soxiet Mikee seems to know what he/she is talking about. The Voinoans probably have gray skin and are really strong. That is the way I see them because they have gray ships and they seem to rely on the strength of the ship rather than the shields. I agree with OctoberFost on the fact that there is probably more than one skin color per race though.

Yes, but that is not their homeworld, otherwise they wouldn't be bothered by it. Voinia has high gravity nonetheless.
Point to notice is that the strands would look very similar, seeing as they haven't been separate long enough to evolve/diverge/whatever. Voinians wouldn't always have had a polluted world, so they wouldn't necessarily be adapted genetically dah dah dah.

I think Azdgari would have long, slender arms with wide hands and long fingers. They fly realy fast ships and are supposed to have fast reflexes so I think they might have those characteristics. The rest of thier body is a blur in my mind.

Yeah, same here. Although I shall not budge from my conviction that the Azdgari have gremlin-like ears. The huge wings of the Azdaras give a clear indication to that...
And I absolutely hate the idea that the Miranu could be the Greys of modern mythology. I'm a huge Miranu fan, and I'd like to think of them as an aesthetically pleasing and rather humanoid. Actually, my pilot's fiancΓ©e is cute medical student from Himgro. I tried to find a good picture of Mi-Nuee from the Aquablue comics, but the doesn't seem to be one on the net. I'll try to draw one.

If I remember correctly, the miranu are described in the game as being rather tall. I always thought of them as looking like the Vahanati race from the exile series(sp).

I had an idea to make an EVO converson for Marathon, but than i realized i had no idea what most of the races looked like,I do have vague ideas on what they look like, but not enough to go on, well here they are:
Azdgari: for some reason i always thought of them as Minor P'fhor Fighters, strange isn't it? Igadzra: Orange, humanoid things, probably a little heavier built than the other strands Zidagar: Purple beings with smooth triangler heads, weird huh? Miranu: sorta like a cross between all the strands Voinians: Very heavy built humoid beings. Emalgha: i always thought of them as wearing brown cloaks with the hood always up. Zachit: huh? i thought they were an organization! Hinwar: i saw SW:TPM befor i met them, so for some reson they look like Jarjar in my mind.
(there are like 2 dozen aliens in EVO so i only listed the "main" ones.)
now as for miranu being tall, i think that came from Irma - "A rather tall, heavy set Miranu Aproaches you..." but i'm not sure.
P.S. for entertainment purposes aliens should be somewhat humanoid. P.P.S. i can't remember what i was gonna put here

I agree, they would be tall, spindly and have muscles like cords, just like the Vahnatai.

I was thinking that the first one would be an Agda... Izda... Something.
The second'd be Voinian (the name always sounded regal and proud to me) and the third a Miranu (the pacifist merchant). Although I'm open for suggestions, and hints to what they look like, on a more precise basis. Not only if they're tall and fat or... not.
Bear with me if my descriptions aren't accurate, I havent' really played through the plot a lot...
