What do the alien races look like?

The second'd be Voinian (the name always sounded regal and proud to me) and the third a Miranu (the pacifist merchant). Although I'm open for suggestions, and hints to what they look like, on a more precise basis. Not only if they're tall and fat or... not.

Bear with me if my descriptions aren't accurate, I havent' really played through the plot a lot...

Please like my pics. =)**

I sure do like them. Apparently, you have a lot of talent. However, I don't always agree with their attribution to EVO races.

The Voinian looks really cool, and regal indeed, maybe even too much so (remember, they're supposed to be evil).

Your suggestion for a Miranu looks too much like "Petit Prince" to me. I have already drawn my own idea of a Miranu, and I'll publish it as soon as I find out what's wrong with my FTP client.

The fourth picture? Funny... could well be an Azdgari, although the bat-like ears are missing. 😉

Sorry, I'm not that into the general space science-fiction culture. I have no idea what things like "Minor P'fhor Fighters" or "Petit Prince" are. I've seen Star wars, that about covers it. I don't know the names of all species of popular novels and TV-series. But if you could point me to some links or clues, I'd gladly check them out. Or just describe them more.

I could consider being an addition to an unofficial gallery of the EVO galaxy. Just let me know.

Le Petit Prince is a character from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's beautiful philosophical essay disguised as a children's tale. http://www.informati...ke/lprince.html

The minor Pfhor fighter is an insectoid foe from the very popular Mac-native first-person shooter Marathon. http://www1.shore.ne...liens/pfhor.gif

Sure. As long as your contributions stay in accordance with my opinions. 😉

I can't get that darned (<- very euphemistic) FTP client to work.

Is anybody willing to publish my pic on his page? In this case, I'd need an address to mail it to.

I updated my Voinian pic now, I thought I was gonna get it done last night, but I fell asleep. 😃

You can mail it to me at whyatt@peratt.com and I'll put it in the same directory. Anyone interested in making such an unofficial gallery? I'm sure some of you have or know people who have EVO fan-pages.

Hey! I just got a great idea for the Miranu. Anyone here watch Farscape on the SciFi Channel? If so, then you have got to have noticed that tall slender blue alien girl. I don't know who she is in the TV sereies, but I think that would be a great repesentation of the Miranu. What do you think?

Actually, the picture I drew yesterday looks extremely similar to Zan's race. Personally, I think Zan looks a tad too icy to be a Miranu... but I'm glad we're thinking along the same lines. 🙂

Ok, I strongly agree with mikee on this. The strands should have have the same basic body structure. It SHOULD differ from strand to strand, however. Take the igzarda (however you spell it) for instence. They should be shorter compared to the other strands and be more muscular. We all remember that great book by Arther C. Clarke, Rondevues (sp?) with Rama, right? Just being born and living a few years on a low-g planet can prevent you from serviving on a high-G planet, so planetary conditions play a role in how strands look.

OK, I finally managed to upload a small picture of my Miranu... it's available at: (url="http://"http://www2.active.ch/~christi1/miranu_small.jpg")http://www2.active.c...iranu_small.jpg(/url)

My original picture is much larger and of better quality, but both Netscape and Anarchie thwart any attempt to send out a larger file. I have yet to find out why.

Voinians are thick-skinned because of the description of their homeworld's atmosphere, They DON'T have hair, because that would absorb the toxins.

The Voinians are tall because of the description in one of the Voinian missions, they have deep voices because of the same description in a Voinian Mission.

The voinians are very dexterous because of the designs and complexity of their ships an' weapons.

Their agressivness (spelling?) means that they must be pretty muscular or whatever the alien equivelent of a muscle is, because evolution only makes strong animals agressive (that's why there aren't any killer guinea pigs).

And because their world is a desert planet (as indicated by it's picture), they would most likely have to be:
•Very intelligent (to construct condensers, farming).
•Nomadic (that explains their build).
•Dark-skinned (like black people are) to cope with the Heat/Light.
•All of the above.

Also, since the Voinians origionated on a high-gravity planet, they wouldn't have an exoskeloten : they would have to have pretty thick bones (or whatever the alien equivelant of a bone is).

This is just using my knowledge about Biology. If you have any other ideas, email me at gajet@pacbell.net

And here's the Zidagar picture to go with it... (url="http://"http://www2.active.ch/~christi1/zidagar_small.jpg")http://www2.active.c...dagar_small.jpg(/url)

Just wait till I can get a larger picture online... too bad one doesn't see the detail in his eyes. 😉

Cinga has a great imagination. keep it and, and you'll probably get all of them done.
The Miranu picture wasn't quite what I had in mind. The Miranu visited Earth a century ago in circular ships. Right now, people (thinks they) sees those and says the aliens look like tall, green people with really big black eyes. The ones you see everyday now.

Hmm, okay. I guess people aren't the least interested in my drawings. Otherwise you'd notice that (url="http://"http://home.swipnet.se/~w-60667/evo/alienrace3.jpg") my Miranu pic(/url) is exactly what you described.

I guess you have to be a regular to get noticed & respected around here. True, I haven't played the game a whole lot but I still like it, it's plot and teh universe it's set in. Cinga, best of luck to you and hope you can provide the EVO people with the likeliness of all the alien races. Would've been fun to part of it tho. I guess our ideas just goes to far apart. Or something.

Am I being overly dramatic about this? Probably, but I just don't like being overlooked/ignored. I have better things to do with my time 😛

May the Force be with you all. ^_^

How exactly are they supposed to, y'know, do it? They come two different parts of the galaxy, even the mere thought of it is mindboggling. 😕

While they couldn't possibly be genetically compatible, the fact that they're both humanoid (probably "seeded" by an ancient progenitor race, as in Star Trek) suggests that they might well be anatomically compatible, if you know what I mean... 😄

I don't see what your problem is -- there are just as many people on this board that have spoken in your favor as in mine... the fact that not everyone floods the board with praise doesn't mean they haven't notice, don't respect or don't like your work. It is clear that your pencil drawings are of much greater detail and realism than my Photoshop product... it's just that your idea of a Miranu doesn't fit well into my personal, subjective, conception of the EVO universe. And your Voinian is undoubtedly better than anything I could draw, since I'm predisposed to dislike them anyway. 😉

And finally, I've started to post on this list only about a week ago, so I'm just as much a new kid on the block as you are.

Good luck with your artwork,

The Miranu's visits to Earth are only a rumor, and I tend to give them no more belief than the tales of the Space Parrot. Besides, that description of the "aliens you see everyday now" is by no means based on any reasonable evidence. And finally, I just plain don't like that kind of aliens. 😉 Feel free to disagree.
