Something HILARIOUS just happened to me. I was in the Zachit system, getting a good rating with the Zachit, and I had just lifted off from Outpost Zachit, and I hear the ALERT!! Klaxxon go off. I look at the radar, and see a big dot. No fighters came out or anything, so I knew it wasn't a CW. I target the big guy, and of all people, it's a Freighter! Not just any freighter, Andrew Welch! I began laughing. Why the hell would Andrew Welch put himself in one of the most useless ships in the game? So I go after him, thinking this is going to be hilarious, I get up to him, and I see he's got weapons. Neutron Turrets! And quite a few of them! I open fire on him, and, unfortunately, 3 Zachit Aradas are in the system, and when I began firing on Welch, they must've thought "Oh no! That bastard is attacking a poor helppless freighter!" so they came after me. Now I know, if I want to get on the goodside of a government, I don't kill their ships. So I began to spin circles around the Freighter, and the Aradas followed me in a circle, launching Pursuit Missiles that began to make their own circles! I shot Welch for a quite a long time, and noticed his shields were only at 92%. I also, at this time, had 4 Zachit Aradas, and 3 Zachit Fighters following me in my circles. I thought it was pretty funny, but instead of continuing my assault on "the helpless freighter" I landed. Why would Andrew Welch put himself in a freighter? Perhaps Mr. Burch played a joke on him? If so, it's a damn good one!
Hey! 7 pages! Woo hoo!

I'm guessing you captured a zachit fighter.

Hmm...Swarming Kraits piss me off too.....I did the Anna missions in my UE Destroyer, which of course had lotsa upgrades. But I switched to a Voinian Cruiser. And, I don't think Stud captured a Zachit Fighter, since they don't have any armor as well as ordinary CF's. But it could be a possibility.....Or maybe he tinkered with his ship color with some kinda editing program.....And as for your battle with Welch, I shot at him with my Turncoat when I was a newbie and was killed on the spot...

LOL! Yes, I have seen Andrew Welch several times, usually in United Earth space. He might have one of the worst ships of the game, but he's armed to the teeth. Everytime I see him, I disable him (or atleast try) so I can steal the large sums of money he carries. Be careful around him, though...He's powerful.

WarBeast - Nope! Can't disable them anyway. No armor!
ESPilot - Switched to ...? Gotta finish your sentences!
Skyblade - HAH! How much money does he carry? And he wouldn't be too much trouble for me, I'm in a swift Crescent Fighter, he's in a slow freighter with lots of shields. It'll be a fun battle, if I ever see him again, and no fighters are trailing me. Ever capture him? He would make a SWEET escort! A freighter, with tons of shields, and tons of neutron cannons, with Andrew Welch as the pilot. What more could someone ask for?
Anymore guesses on how I re painted my CF?
Hmm...Swarming Kraits piss me off too.....I did the Anna missions in my UE Destroyer, which of course had lotsa upgrades. But I switched to a Voinian Cruiser for the Nadir mission and had an Igazra and a CW for escorts, so that made it real easy for me. And as for the battle with Welch, yes he flies a Freighter, but that's (at least I think it is) to make you think his ship sucks bigtime. I first fired at him with my Turncoat, (my very 3rd ship I might add) and was blown outta the sky.

ESPilot - Switched to ...? Gotta finish your sentences! Oh yes...He sure would make a superb pilot. I'm sure Andrews' an excellent captain, but his ship sure is a good one!
Have you ever fought John Cook? He flies a UE Destroyer, is pretty tough, blows up everyone including UE ships, and has a generous amount of credits.

Your right..
Did you buy a Zachit fighter? I forget if its possible to buy those.
How was the fighter painted? My guess: with a roller or a spray gun (brushes are sort of a waste of time for something as big as a spacecraft)
Anyway, I found the Disco Bison again. Naturally, I attacked. This time, however, I learned just how much range that gun of his has. I was at the edge of my phase cannons range, and I took a shot, then turned and ran. I didn't use afterburner, because I had a good jump on him, and he was still turning when I began to run. That was probably my last conscious thought before the DMG wasted my fighter. Not only was I still in its range, but the stray bullets flew past me another quarter screen length!

I don't think you can actually buy Zachit or Zidager fighters...

P.S. A few minutes ago I captured a Confederation Frigate in my scoutship!!!

Nope! Not with a spray gun, paint brush, or anything else, and I don't have a zachit fighter! It's a crescent fighter! Keep guessing! First one to guess right gets a free Saalian Brandy!

Ding ding ding ding! That is correct Captain Skyblade! I switched the sprites of the Zachit Fighter with the Crescent Fighter. I wanted a bluish look, which "Icewind" portrays. So now I am flying around in a sleek, mystic blue, Icewind Falcon. orders him a fresh bottle of Saalian Brandy
No new stories yet. Anybody else?
(quote)P.S. A few minutes ago I captured a Confederation Frigate in my scoutship!!! ;). Right now I only have one pilot on it, named after...well.....you can easily guess, no? I captured a Clipper with my Shuttlecraft and captured a Confed PT Ship and a Confed Gunboat in the Clipper. Still no stories, but I'm really workin' on it! Seriously!!!

Aw, come on. I would have guessed that, but it seemed too obvious.

Sometimes the most obvious is the correct. Or something like that.
Anyone got some good stories? Share away!

So now I am flying around in a sleek, mystic blue, Icewind Falcon.;) I've done that so many times, (importing ship sprites and using them for another) so it seemed logical. So you're flying a Zachit fighter around? That's cool...It looks like the weakest of the Crescent Fighters, but it sure doesn't fight like the weakest. I think I like the Zidager Crescent Fighter best...
Yeap, I was able to get a Confed frigate in my wimpy scoutship. I fired waves of guided javelin rockets at him and finished him with my four proton cannons. I boarded him, and just for the fun of it decided to try capturing him. And would you believe it? The menu came up asking for "Escort" or "My Ship." Pretty lucky I guess...
Hmm.....I havfta look into this Galactic Scourge thing...Sounds pertty cool. I still have no stories whatsoever, but I'm searching the galaxy high and low for a good battle!! The only problem is I'm flat broke from restocking and that stupid parrot.

Haha!! I finally have a good story, and it's pretty good considering what I was up against and what I was using. sips the mug of brandy Stud gave him
So, I had been working for the Rebels, and had bought myself a Sentinel, which look kinda like a smaller Rebel Cruiser (Skyblade would know what I'm talking about ;)). So, I had landed on Port Oread and went to the bar, when a Rebel officer says the system is under Confed attack! So I take off, with the system completely empty except for the R.S.S. Rebel, my Sentinel. First, here's the 'lowdown' on my Sentinel: 2 Mass Turrets, 10 torpedos complete with launcher, 11 missiles complete with launcher, and 200 guided javelins complete with launcher. So, two Confed Frigates and 3 Patrol Ships jump in, and start firing missiles and torpedos. So, I'm speeding away from the pursuing Patrol Ships and their missiles, which die out before they get me. So I fire missiles at one of the fighters, taking it out with 3 blows. The other 2 are getting close, so I fire a missile at one sending back and I use the 'whip' maneuver on the other, sending me to the fighter I hit with the missile. I open fire with my deadly Mass turrets which destroy the fighter faster than you can say 'Dreadnought'. I turn on the other fighter, 7 missiles remaining, and destroy him completely with Mass turrets. And then I realized I was being trailed by about 4 or so torpedos, so I outmaneuvered them easily, flying just past them when they got close sending them into a large circle. I fire about 3 torpedos at one destroyer, and pass it doing as much damage as possible with Mass turrets. I fire 3 more missiles, taking him down to armor, and I finish him with my Mass turrets. I fire all my remaining missiles and torpedos at the other Frigate from a distance, and suddenly I'm smacked directly by a torpedo, knocking me all the way down to at least 60% shielding, while the Frigate has around 30% left. I get in closer and fire my Guided Javelins at full velocity, averaging at 2 per second. So, by the time I reach the destroyer he has 3 shields left, and I finish him quickly with my Mass turrets but not without taking some decent damage from protons. Then I land on Port Oread and get my money.
Then I go to the bar again and the same message appers! Seriously!!!! So, good story wasn't it? Puts the empty Brandy mug on the table And for those familiar with EV Mass Drivers, a Mass Turret is a weapon from the GS plug that's basically a Mass Driver turret with more range and a little more power.
P.S. Does anyone other than me think they used the Mass Driver graphics from EV to make the Emalgha Cannon/Turret graphics on EVO?
