The Dark Tide 2 - Red Tide

Here's an updated map, and I think it looks better too: (url="http://"http://www.angelfire.com/ma3/coffeebreak/DTmap.gif")http://www.angelfire...break/DTmap.gif(/url)

If anything is wrong on the map, let me know.

MESSAGE TO THUNDER HEAVILY ENCRYPTED

The cargo that you smuggled to Hirith was not pointless, as you may or may not have surmised. It could play a major role if war ever breaks out between the Corocians and the UE. Forget the matter, it is better to enjoy peace while we have it, for I hear that the Renegades are growing restless. Hope you are well. -Samurai

Mind if I just copy that map and continue on with it? Because I really liked doing the map, the one that I have now doesn't look too good, but there are a few things I don't like about yours (like the Voinian Empire systems being really dark and Innirian being uninhabited when it was supposed to be Corocian).

<Samurai, we know you have a secret base in Renegade space. Where is it?>

BTW, Entropy, the Corocians LUV (purposefuly spelling error, refer to the Disco Bison quote) Saalian Brandy, so your Renegades just lucked out. The Corocians also like trading a lot, especially with your Renegade alliance.

Sure, no problem. I thought you had destroyed Innarian, and not captured it. But you can do the map, if you want.

Message to Carno: I know of no UE "secret base" in Renegade space. We once had a covert operation on Hirith, but that was abandoned a while ago... we'll send you the old co-ordinates... why do you ask? End Message

<Thanks. Reasons? One, we just want to know. Two, the Renegades don't like secret bases in their space.>

The Warpgate has been repaired by the UE.

By the way, Sam., I control Bakoom (which means essentially total control of the ST except Duios, which I maintain peace with (a complicated black-market goods deal) and have a base on.

As the Renegade area has expanded, so has capital. I've increased mining, agricultural, commodity trade, and commercial business in my sphere of influence. It's getting to less like the "renegades" and more like the "venture capitalists." Despite my favoring of anarchy, one can not govern a society on it.

Anyway, business is good for all.

The thing I build on the Kayan defense station (renamed South Tip Station, no longer Sarcasm Station) is operational. It's a gigantic rotocannon like that on the rock, although, you know, it just seems so futile now. No reason to fight anybody.

The NT renegades are concentrating on the trade of Munb leaves, pharmaceuticals, strains of the Saalian oat, (used in brandy,) livestock rearing, and even luxury cruise lines (although they continue to pirate and raid as usual, as evidenced by the fact that giant cruise liners have been seen disabling and boarding the competition's ships, their cruise line is the only one to outfit it's ships with missile batteries and even the occasional phase beam.) Nonetheless, there are still plenty of normal renegades.

Anyway, the thing I was building on the AlpoPo WAS going to be a gigantic phase battery but construction was stopped and it is now a gigantic biodome! Growing plants, for goodness sakes! Renegade's aren't supposed to do that, but it does rake in the cash:

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!

Titan returns to UE space and takes up his old office.
Message to Captain Carnotaur: If you give the UE the right to make warships again, we help will you fight against any of your enemys. End of message

Titan, the UE can still build warships, but they cannot be any larger than 4 kilometers at the longest and they can have no more than 500 ships.

The United Earth Mining Coalition on New Riga has discovered a new element: Xranthium. This metal, usually found in liquid form, has proven to become incredibly stiff and strong when frozen. UE science laboratories are now fully at work discovering the unique properties of this unusual metal. Incredibly pure veins of Xranthium have been discovered on Troon, and the UEMC has set up several digs to extract the valuable substance.

This string is getting very long and takes a long time to load. I'm going to close it. Please start up a new topic called The Dark Tide 3 to continue your story, and put the URL to this string in the first post, along with an explanation of the story (who the mods are, how to join, etc.).
