Worst Ship and Weapon

Blaze a still better, IMHO. If the Emalgha had Blaze Weapons instead of Emalgha, they would have no problem fending off Voinian attacks. Besides, there is no such thing as an Emalgha "Turret".

True. I've always wandered why it was called the "Emalgha Turret." It's technically a gun fitted on a 90 degree rotating rack. I've notcied that when attacking Emalgha vessels, they are very vulnerable when you attack from behind, because their "turrets" can only fire in a 90 degree arc from the front. I wish there was some mission in EVO where the UE and Emalgha make a weapons agreement and share the same firepower.

That's why Aradas can easily blast them to bits. Now, if the Emalgha had Blaze weapons, they wouldn't have this problem.

It could be easier then that. If the Emalgha only had a REAL Emalgha turret, that had a 360 degree field of fire, it wouldn't be so bad. The Emlagha's "turret" my be considered one of the worst weapons, but for defense, it is pretty good. But, it would be even better if it were only a real turret. 🙂 If anyone considers making a plug that adds a lot of missions to EVO, I would suggest one for the UE and Emalgha that gets you to transport weapons blueprints and agreements back and forth between Emalgha and UE space, so that the Emalgha could atleast defend themselves properly, and then consider offensives on the Voinians. 🙂

I'm already one step ahead of you...

I've already made a plug that does just that; change the Emalgha turret to a real turret. However, I'm still working on the last big mission set it the plug, so it isn't out yet. However, I will give you some secret information; Emalgha Warships now have Pursuit Missiles. 😉

Wow! That will be VERY nice. Now the Emalgha have something guided! 🙂 The "real" turret idea is good, also. The Emalgha turret's range is bad enough, and the 90 degree field of fire dosen't help much. Will you have a new image for the Emalgha turret, or will it be the same old pic?

Yup, unless I somehow manage to make a new one. BTW, the only reason the Emalgha Warship has the Pursuit Missiles is because of a trading pact between the Miranu and the Emalgha.

When compared to the Phase equipment, it may not be as fast firing, but the Phase Cannon is a bit too accurate. Like with the Neutron weapons, you have to have precise aim to hit your opponent. With the Blaze cannon, its almost spread shot, giving you an easy time of hitting your target.

When I used the four swivel phase cannons on my Arada, all I did was hold A (autopilot) and fire. Ever shot that was in range connected with every ship I can think of anytime, anywhere. Yes, in EV 1.0.1, the phase cannon had a terrible aim flaw - always about 20 degrees off center.

You can't get rid of the phased beam? LOL!! Theres just another reason why I don't go with the Zidagar. They have NOTHING good to offer.

Well, I am no fan of the phase beam, but I'd have to say that the Zidagar ECM and space upgrade are definitely great upgrades.

Actually, with the release of EVO 1.0.2, the phase turrets are very accurate. 🙂

BTW, all over the web board, I've noticed that most everyone says, with passion , that the Emalgha suck. Yeah, you could say that. But remember that the Emalgha are supposed to have very primitive technology.

In EVO 1.0.2, I think any SAD, SAE, needle missile or pursuit missile are just about useless. They just seem to make people dizzy, spinning in circles until they fade out.
I'd have to agree about the Krait. I think it's a lousy ship stock and it really doesn't have enough space to make it a decent ship.

Sounds good to me. Tell me when you've finished the plug. What's it going to be called, and are you going to add much more to it besides the Emalgha upgrades?

It won't be finished for a while, however, the majority of it is finished, and I just have about 50 missions left to put in it. The plug will be called "The New Frontier", and besides the Pursuit Missiles, the only difference in the Emalgha warship is that it's slightly stronger than it used to be.

"The New Frontier"...Sounds good to me. Now that the Emalgha warship is stronger, will it have a chance of destroying a Voinian Frigate one on one, or will the Voinians still have a slight edge in technology? And you really do plan on putting 50 missions in the plug? Wow...

Yup, the Voinians now have beams, and I'm finding it quite difficult to balance it all out between the Emalgha, UE, and Voinians.

BTW, oh, those extra 50 missions (or was it 55? 😉 ) are just extras I just decided to add. I already have around 30 or 40 other missions already in the plug. I hope it does well.

Sounds to me like it will be a success. Of all the features in plugins, I think the missions make them the most enjoyable. I'm sure anyone who has used a lot of plugins would agree.

There's nothing wrong with plugs that add new hardware in principle, but so many of them seem to suffer from Munchkin Disease - that terrible affliction which causes the designer to create ships and weapons which are much more powerful than those in the original game. In many plugs, you visit a new and dangerous galaxy and end up coming home in a ship with eight guns, lightweight but super-strong armour upgrades, multiple beam weapons and a crew of thousands... This effectively ends the usefulness of the pilot file, because the game becomes trivial once you're flying your own Invincinaut.

What I like to find in a plug is a few new mission strings which include fights, puzzles and exploration... and change the politics or geography of the map when you complete them. I'd rather have original missions written in good English than a 5 ton turreted killer beam weapon, any day.

The Arada is the worst possible ship to buy. I fart in its general direction. The SAE pods suck too.

Are you gonna tell him that's a boy cow?
Naw, he'll figure it out.

The Arada? No way, it's actually one of the better ships in the game. Better than a lot of other ships like the Emalgha frieghter and such.

I would like to see a plug where the UE asks you to help them secretly fund a Emalghan revolt against the Voinians. After doing some stuff like running blueprints, Emalghan ships would improve, and some systems would be captured by the Emalghan forces (they only have two right?).

Definately! Tha Arada is an excellent ship! Desert Fox, I think you're the first person I've seen say they hated the Arada...That ship is a powerful little thing, and it has accompanied me on my quest throughout the galaxy for most of the time I've played Override.
