Nay, carnotaur, I shall not accept you as a mercenary. I have thought this over, and decided with great dismay that your ruin is not worth the destruction of the galaxy. Instead, I propose a peace. Will the 3 strands unite with humanity and the Voinans? If you will share your technology,return Mihal, Romit, and the planets you've colonized to their rightful owner, the Voinans will cease agression, share technology and repopulate the Fuzzes of Ursla. Rooster had been slightly preoccupied, looking nervously around as he listened to Oasa. Rooster leaned forward and asked Oasa: "Have you a weapon?" Oasa nodded, he was in warsuit with an Ion blaster. Oasa thought this meant Rooster was going to fight him. Rooster pulled his photonlance, charged it's blast feature*, and hurls it past Oasa. The air began to ripple around the blast, and slowly five figures appeared, hiding their appearances. Oasa was dumbfounded. He had not ordered people to follow, Rooster wouldn't have hit his own people, and Carno was right there with them. Rooster: "Ancara! Down!" The three hit the ground to avoid several blasts of lasers shriek above them. The figures then recloaked and ran into the woods. They stood. Oasa: "Who were they?" Rooster: "There's no time for that now, we have to get to Corocian command (it was closest). But sure as hell you've got your alliance now." Rooster and Oasa shook on the agreement and all three ran for Corocian Command....
*Blast Feature: On photonlances. It hyperactivates the photon crystal, imploding the lance. This creates an effective high radius weapon.

LOL!! I will leave the decision up to Oasa as he is the owner of the most powerful weapon in the galaxy, that is if he survives the war.
Omigosh, I just thought of something cool for The Light Behind the Shadow part 2. I will see if I can begin its developement in this story. Carnotaur, I accept your pleas for alliance. However, I do not speak for Oasa. You are now allied with the Renegade Alliance. New name to be reveiled soon.
Daedalus, struck with an idea, contacts Captain Scorcher. Meet me in the Fevirey system. In orbit.

Rooster ran for the main computer. Entering his passcode, he quickly gained access to the computer core. Immediately he called up the code which would deactivate the crystallized atmosphere, and entered it. Rooster, Oasa and Carno each ran for their transports to their ships above. On board the Malcontent, Oasa ordered the Malcontent cloaked, and a full sensor sweep run on the system. Five minutes later he panickedly hailed Rooster and Carno on a secure channel. "I couldn't tell you this before we allied, but the Malcontent detects cloaked vessels. There are twenty-nine ships hiding in this system of a design I've never seen. Here, I'll transfer the scans to your ships. Tell me what you think, and fast!"

Buba meets up with Rooster.. "Commander, what happened?"

Rooster: "I've seen these." The design is an Ancara Cruiser. However, there is only one, the other readings are it's attack drones. It must be ready to engage us. We must hold to our alleigance to defeat them. The Ancara begin to decloak as the warships alone tried to defend themselves.
On Ursla, D Clone deactivated himself seeing as he was no longer useful. ----------------- Meanwhile, rumors were spreading of a glimmer quickly entering and leaving systems too fast to take proper sensor readings. Civilians waited in space hoping to catch site of it so that they could make a wish.
Here is the plan. I will remain cloaked for the moment. Have your two ships try and draw fire from the drones. Let your shields go down a bit; as the cruiser moves in for the kill I will decloak and blow him to many pieces. Cruisers do not tangle with planets and come out alive...
"It has phased shields as do the expiremental Emalgha Warships. They are also extremely superior. We'll have to all hit at once in the frontal shielding to disable their weapons."
Buba's ship shoots through the now normal atmosphere. Buba: "Shield readings" Pilot: "100% sir. Drones closing in." A mass of Drones flew at Buba's ship releasing their fire on his shields. Pilot: "Shields at 75%" Buba: "Damn! Release the SD Modules*." The modules flew out from the ship and began slamming into the hulls of the Drones. Pilot: "20 Drones left, sir." Buba: "Maneurver towards the cruiser. Maybe we can get them to fire on their own ship." The ship flew towards the Cruiser trying to dodge the heavy fire. As the ship pulled up close to the Cruiser the Drones flew in for attack. Pilot: "Drones closing in." Buba: "On my mark... one, two, now!" The ship release their SD's and pulled out away from the Cruiser. The Drones tried to swerve away from the Cruiser but the SD Modules damaged their controls and they rammed into the Cruiser blowing up in a firey mess. Pilot: "14 Drones."
*SD Modules - Smart Defense Modules - Like the Miranu Defense Pods these Modules are a mix between SAD and the D-Pods. Not requring a target they launch out and fly towards a hostile ship. Their accuracy isn't 100% but they are a much better improvement to the Defense Pods.
Seeing Buba's perilous situation, Oasa suddenly decloaked less than 100 metres away from the enemy cruiser. Before it had time to react, 300 neutron turrets locked onto the target and began to fire. Within twenty seconds, the ship was no more than space dust. The Malcontent had sustained no damage. Meanwhile, 14 drones were still swarming Rooster and Buba...
During the battle, a glimmer lit up in the distance. Soon after a message was sent to all friendly ships. <Dim your windows!!>
All the ships who understood english did so. From around the drones, 20 darts of silver suddenly flashed into existence as cloaking devices disengaged. The sun glinted off many angles as blue pulses were fired at the remaining drones. All fourteen drones were quickly disabled.
"Thought you might like to take some samples." crackled Daedalus's voice over the com. "Meet the Silver Fleet."
"Heard about the situation here and decided to come in case war broke out. Guess not. Who are these suckers anyway?"
Rooster: "The Ancara. They are a race of people from northeast of the Zidagar. Their ships are equipped with a slipcorridor drive and can pass through interquadratical matter. I've never seen one this deep into the Gamma Quadrant before, they must be beginning their attack on the Zidagar. We have to organize. Oasa, contact Intimidator and warn him. Carno and Daedalus, develop a defense based on the drone hulls. Buba, coordinate from the Zodiac. I'll go to communications."
Carno, meet me at F-25. We have some work to do. I will gather the drones and meet up with you there. Try and stay out of restricted research data.
Rooster, if you could provide me with a map of the Ancara systems I could put it to good use. Also, if you could give me some more details on this slipcorridor drive, the technology interests me.
Oasa, set up some sort of scouting network to give us eyes into Ancara activity while you are meeting with Intimidator.
Buba takes his ship to Zidagar and awaits orders from Rooster.

Ancara systems have never before been mapped. Attempts by our people to use the technology resulted in the destruction of our research base in Marafey and the death of 6 of our most prized scientists. We can only make a crude estimate of their land's border to the Zidagar based on the systems they slip into: Qerid thru Marafey. The Ancara have spent a decade constructing the array to bring them through, and there is only one crystal in 1.5 millinea that matures enough to power slipcorridors. We have acquired a chip of this crystal, which can power two slipcorridors. We have used one of them to recover tactical information. The chip is the only segment of the crystal missing, so destroying the one would be effective to eliminate their incursions. We must take one ship in and destroy this crystal. Be planning your strategies, i assume we will use the Malcontent.....
Captain Scorcher, after recieving Daedalus's message, goes to the Fevirey system and waits there.
Meanwhile, Intimidator gets back to Azdgari (recently recolonized, the toxic gases gone) and begins to mobilize the Azdgari Grand Navy. He orders shipyards to work double. He knows the Azdgari Empire was not ready for a large conflict so soon. But the Azdgari are resiliant, and they will prevail. Within three days 12 new Azdgari Warships, 20 Azdgari Aradas, and 60 Azdaras are built.
Carnotaur meets with Daedalus on F-25. After studying the Drones hull, Carnotaur comes up with a new kind of Azdgari weapon, based on the Igadzra Beam and Phase Beam. It's called the Disruptor Beam, and it is specifically designed to destroy Ancara vessels. Extremely powerful, Carnotaur shows the design to Daedalus. Although large, the disruptor beam's main problem is that it requires vast amounts of fuel. However, Carnotaur has come up with a new kind of ramscoop that recharges fuel at 10 times the rate normal ramscoops collect fuel. With the Super Ramscoop, Carnotaur hopes that this will make the Disruptor Beam much more practical. However, it is totally inoperative near black-holes and/or sub-space fluxuations (because it works by ripping and resealing sub-space). Daedalus looks at the design and says...
