I am new to the game, and have been reading some of the threads... Many of you refer to the various bad things by name... where is there a clue to identifying these? Is it in the game, or is there a description of these somewhere on this site?
Is it important to know what bad guy you are dealing with?

You get the names as you play, usualy through conversation in the game. and also in the learning tree there are people you can ask, give the monsters name, and they tell you a bit about them, although not all monsters are listed that way.
Its not too important to know, they all do one of two things, chase you and attack, or throw stuff at you. As you go along, the types you see just get stronger. Such as Goblin (little green guys)(some toss spears) to Kobold (yellowish little guys with axes)(some toss rocks) to Brown Thief (brown cloaked guys) to Ookwasps (obvious) Blue Thief (some toss daggers) Red Thief (some toss more daggers) and so on... later they do get a bit mixed up in damage, like zombies and other undead i believe pass through armor so they can do more damage, and Mindhunters have mind attacks. Yet you can get protection later for undead and your mind.

Thanks for the help... What are those scorpion thingies that curl up when attacking and being attacked... Those are really ugly, and give me the squeamies, so killing them is very satisfying!
I wish there were one question answerer in the game, where we could go with our questions...

I believe your talking about the Thivuk, Lower body a salamander, upperbody a man, green in color, uses a lance.
Or more likely the Devil termite, worm looking thing with a 2 blade tail and a head which I think looks like a rat.
