Admiral NelsonŐs detachment, while being severely depleted of vessels, was still strong enough for another capture. And so the Admiral decided to create a link to Ruby and capture Osiris. Nelson ordered his naval detachment to hyperspace, and they were off.

Brad Kraq, as head of EndorŐs small defense attachment, was a very busy man. Ever since the capture of El Santo, his fleet has been on general alert. He was shaving when suddenly a loud alarm started sounding and blast doors started closing. He instinctively knew what was going on, and bolted straight for his Manta. The Manta hangar was under brutal assault by Confederation storm troopers, and he had barely enough time to launch.
NelsonŐs fleet jumped into the system twenty minutes after his storm troopers had landed en masse on EndorŐs surface. Since the chaos below was taking up all of the Rebel assets, Nelson was allowed to get very near Endor before being detected. Soon enough, multiple forces of disorganized Mantas blasted into space. The first wave had no chance against the massive proton and neutron arrays on the Confederate Cruiser. Twenty mantas died from betting caught in the extremely heavy fire. The next wave of fifty, heeding the lesson the previous wave had learned the hard way, split off from the Confederate Cruisers. The Mantas regrouped out of the CruisersŐ range and waited. The Cruisers advanced towards the Mantas. Suddenly, fire erupted from behind the Cruisers. The remaining fifty or so mantas had snuck up behind the Confederates, and began bombarding them with fire.
However, the Confederate Cruisers had another card up their sleeves. They had recently been outfitted with sensors that allowed independent targeting for each weapon. The Cruisers aimed their proton batteries at the Manta behind, while they unleased on the Mantas in front with the vaunted particle beam and neutron cannons. The surprised Manta pilots went down hard. Only twenty survived to retreat. Brad Kraq was one of them. He contacted them over their secure radios, and ordered them all to smash themselves into one single critically damaged cruiser. The Mantas obeyed, and rammed straight into the Capitalist. The ship staggered and its hull bickled and then collapsed, but all the Mantas had been destroyed in the kamikazi charge.
Osiris is now controlled by the Confederation of Republican Worlds

Nick had waited long enough, it was time to continue his campaign. He ordered his ships on the move and soon they were in the Propus System. The defenders had been fearfull of an attack, so their defense fleet was scrambled in a relatively short time. It consisted of 40 Argosies, 20 Corvettes, and 200 Defenders. Nick started out by encircleing the argosies with the corvettes firing missiles. Having no long range weaponry, 23 of them were destroyed before anything else got close to them. At that point, the corvettes retreated back into the fleet, and engaged the ships with the capitals. The corvettes had saved their heavy rockets, and now fired them at the oncoming defeders. It decimated their ranks, and 130 of them were destroyed on their first pass. At that point the tigersharks went to pursue the argosies while the capitals engaged the corvettes and Nick's corvettes finished up the defenders. All in all, Nick was rather pleased with his tactic. The plan of separating each element of the defense and hammering it with what it was weak to appealed to him very much, and it also cut down on losses. Nick lost only 6 Tigersharks, 4 corvettes, and 1 confed frigate.

Rak decided to deploy Asriels fleet similar to his own.
The Orbital Defense Sentinels are situated in high earth orbit. They are positioned so that the atmosphere of the planet in question will deflect a few torpedo hits. They are prepared to fire a barrage of torpedoes and missiles at any time, and their computer grids have been synchronized with that of the garrison at their planet.
Half of the Prowlers are patrolling near the hyperspace entry point, preparing to dump ordinance on any attacker at any moment. The remaining Prowlers are situated so that they may attack any fleet that hyperspaces in with a load of heavy rockets and space bombs.
The Gunboats are providing an advance screening picket to attack enemy fighters and light warships.
The Cruisers are patrolling nearby our ODSŐs, and providing a screen for them to operate. We have offloaded all patrol-ships. On sighting the enemy, the Cruisers will fire all of their torpedoes and advance towards the enemy, staying well behind the Frigates. The Cruisers, once upon the enemy, will bombard them with concentrated proton turret and neutron cannon fire as well as with particle beams.
The Patrol Ships are assisting the gunboats in their duties.
President Eagle stood aboard his flagship Kestrel and peered out across the vast fleet before him. Preparations for departure were being made, and he knew it was time to divide this grand navy.

Eagle felt the engines of the UMS Conqueror fire-up, and watched the peaceful orbit of Levo vanish from sight. He punched up the comm once again- "BattleGroup1: Set course for Vulcan. BattleGroup2: Set course and take Kathoon." The hull jerked as the Kestrel went in to hyperspace..
Hours passed before word arrived from Levo. Little activity had occured in Vulcan since their arrival- a couple of pirates that were quickly desimated, and a minor skirmish between two traders. An aide, half of out of breath, ran up with a pad in his hand and gave it to the President.

We are pleased to report the sacking of Kathoon. Losses were light, as Kathoon's defense fleet was unprepared and under maintanced. Their most considerable firepower came from Argosys. Their fleet consisted of 35 Argosys, 15 Rapiers, and 40 Defenders. Upon entrance in to the system, only small first waves left from the surface. The Corvettes broke from the fleet as planned, and quickly seperated their Rapiers from the rest of their group. Casualties were low, as we only lost 3 Corvettes in this tactic. Also as planned, our Argosys formed a shell around the stationary Rapiers as they bombarded the hostile Argosys with their torpedos. Their Defenders were the wild cards scoring 4 Argosy and 7 Rapier kills. With 7 Defenders and 4 Argosys remaining, their fleet fled and Kathoon offered its unconditional surrender.
Kathoon is now under the control of the United Merchant's Guild.

With Kathoon secured, Levo now stood as a major power in the Northeast. With control of the only two hyperspace junctions into the territory, the balance of power could shift at anytime in this region. Suddenly the comm panel beside the command chair lite up. Quickly the President assertained that it was a message from the diplomats sent to the Confederation. After reading and carefully considering, the President sent back a reply to be passed to Rak.

Jimbob, worried of oncoming attacks from the Confederates, began drawing up a plan for his fleet to extend defencense. Calling up the 101st, he said, " The Confederates draw closer. We cannot let them approach any further. Now is the time to slow it down. Jump to the Yemuro System immediatly and await orders." Jimbob then guided his fleet into hyperspace.
Upon arriving in Yemuro, Jimbob fired immediatly on the oncoming defense fleet. It was a small group of 10 argosies and 15 defenders. The 9 heavy cruisers, 21 warbirds and 29 destroyers torps took down the argosies in a short while, while the many mantas dove in and engaged the defenders. They circled around and slowly closed in to finish them off.

Nick sat down to the galactic political map his advisor had prepared for him. Almost before he saw it, he realized what had happened.
Nick was in a state of total fury when he saw the Kathoon System was under Levo's control. It meant his way to a Northern empire was blocked! The air around him was heavily peppered with Nick's curses as he went to the intercom. His encrypted message to Shade of Olympus was very abrupt, even rude as he sent it off(e-mail).
With that, Nick Set off down the corridor, snarling and spitting curses under his breath...
Shade swore as Keri presented the latest political data; certain plans for the North had been hindered by Levo's sudden expansionism, while the Confederate Republic had taken Osiris, right next door to his own home system! Thinking quickly, Shade called Keri over. "Hey, we've cleared the pirates and other assorted space drifters out of NGC - 1325 and NGC - 0551, haven't we?" Keri sighed. "Two years ago, sir." "Good." Those systems had been centers for NeoNetwork raiders before the Revolution; it was good to know that the pirate trash had finally been cleared out.
"Tell the squads on the other end of the hyperlinks to those systems to redeploy; the one from NGC - 1325 is to reinforce the Olympus Advance Defence Group - that's one Athena, one Corvette and ten Lightnings, bringing the Osiris ADG up to two Athenas, two Corvettes and twenty Lightnings - and have the corresponding Internal Defence Group bolster the Osiris IDG, making the Osiris IDG twelve Athenas, eight Kestrels, four Corvettes, four Lightnings and ten Rapiers. Then have both the ADG and IDG of NGC - 0551 - that's seven Athenas, four Kestrels, three Corvettes, twelve Lightnings and five Rapiers - join the remainder of my assault fleet in Sauron, bringing it up to ten Athenas, eight Kestrels, six Corvettes, fourteen Lightnings, and twenty Rapiers."

That done, Shade opened the message systems.

Rak Đ noticing increase Rebel action in Yemuro and Risa, decided to take action.
He ordered IpvicusŐs SOG-3 and Omega force to converge in Matar and supplement the defense there.
SOG-3 and Omega force travel from Rigel to Matar.
Rak then ordered AsrielŐs Theta force to thread through Matar to Risa. He left behind the seven ODSs in Polaris.
Theta Force travels to Matar and then to Risa.
Upon entering Risa, Theta force immediately began dumping guided ordinance on the Rebels, while Confederate fighters swarmed the Mantas. As the Rebel ships were being pummeled by torpedoes,, the ten Prowler corvettes rocketed towards their targets. As the came in range of the Warbirds and Destroyers, they unceremoniously dumped out space bomb after space bomb. More than half were caught in the lethal wake of the space bombs, but the bombs wreaked havoc among the Rebel fleets. As the four Confederation Mk. II cruisers menacingly advanced towards the severely damaged Rebel fleet, the fighters engaged in a grueling dogfightÉ

Rak also decided to preempt a massive strike on Matar by attacking JimbobŐs massive fleet at Yemuro. Rak sent SOG-3 and AsrielŐs Xeta Force to destroy Jimbob. Both forces jump from Matar to Yemuro. Rak leaves behind 10 ODSs and Omega force to defend polaris.
As soon as the combined battle group enters Yemuro, it encounters an alert and deadly Rebel force. Both sides launch wave after wave of torpedoes, and advance on each other. The Confederate fighters and eight Prowler corvettes contend with the Rebel fighters, while the remaining twenty Prowlers follow the torpedoes in a strafing run. Four Prowlers are downed by the intense munitions fire, but the remaining sixteen release all of their ordinance and slam their hulls into the Rebel Warbirds. Massive damage ensues, as both sides recklessly advance towards each other.

Rak, seeing as the Rebellion was distracted, finally decided to capture Thanos. He ordered Admiral Nelson to capture Thanos.
Nelson, recieving Rak's communique, ordered his fleet to Thanos. Once in Thanos, he used his remaining Prowlers to suicidely engage the Rebel ships, destroying all but the Rebel Warbird. The remaining Warbird furiously assaulted one Mk. II Cruiser, waging an epic battle against the extreme power of the cruisers' proton arrays and particle beam. Soon though, the battle was over, and the Confederation had captured Thanos.
Thanos is now under the command of the Confederation
Nelson's fleet then retreated back to Osiris, where it became part of the defense fleet.

Although your decision irritates me, my ADG will be withdrawn and unified with the corresponding IDG, as per your wishes. However I then require your notification should any fleet hostile to me enter the Osiris system or the systems adjacent to it. Sincerely, High Commander Shade, leader of the Olympian Solidarity."
The Osiris IDG was now the largest defence fleet Olympus had, with fourteen Athenas, six Corvettes, eight Kestrels, twenty-four Lightnings and ten Rapiers.
However that was not Shade's immediate concern; his eyes were fixed to the continual flow of reports from the Assault Fleet, which consisted of ten Athenas, eight Kestrels, six Corvettes, fourteen Lightnings, and twenty Rapiers.
Sauron --> Farazon --> Diphidia
The Assault Fleet jumped into Diphidia ready for battle; so too was the Diphidian defence force of five Argosies, ten Corvettes and forty Defenders. Scared by the reports of expansion nearby, they had been put on high alert. So when they saw the Solidarity fleet jump in, weapons hot, they moved to attack. Diphidian Corvettes began firing missiles and Torpedos, which were answered by missile and torpedo fire from the Assault Fleet. As the only vessels with long-range capability the Diphidians had, their Corvettes were the target of a heavy barrage of torpedos, and quickly went down - but not before destroying a Solidarity Kestrel, a Corvette, and four Lightnings. With their superior speed, the Diphidian Defenders avoided missiles and torpedos, heading for the Solidarity capital ships where they were promptly dispatched of by Proton fire and heavy rockets, but not before taking down an Athena and a second Kestrel. It became obvious that to cripple the Rebel fleet, the Warbirds and Cruisers must fall first. He barked out orders over the comm system for a wing of 20 Corvettes to take down the Warbirds at all costs. The Rapiers were to hold position as in the previous battle, and act as torpedo platforms while the Argosy's engaged the attacking fighters. The Rapiers were given Cruiser targets- The remaining 17 Corvettes were to fall in to Confederate formation and protect the Mk. II Cruisers at all costs.

The Rebels were experiencing great losses in a very large battle. Jimbob knew what he had to do, thought it was very risky. Calling up Kyle on the ship phone, Jimbob ordered that 9 cruisers, 14 warbirds, 24 destroyers and 300 mantas be sent to Yemuro to help. Jimbob's fleet was able to evade attack when the massive reinforcements arrived. The 14 cruiser took the MkII's on, while the destroyers took the frigates and Prowlers. The Warbirds released the mantas and sent half to engage the fighters along with the rest, while the other half along with the Cruiser's manatas took on the prowlers and frigates. The MkII's were bombarded by torpedo's while distracted by the Mantas, and 3 went down right away. The Rebel Cruiser took some damage from the space bombs, but fired another round of torpedos and pulled away from the remaining cruisers. While this was happening, the very outnumbered Confederate fighters got blown out of the sky with a huge long range barrage of missles. Only a few gunboats got heavy rocket shots off, and those did some damage to the mantas, but a comparatively small amount of damage. The fight between the warbirds, destroyers and prowlers, Frigates was even, but sheer numbers eventually eroded the 'fed to about nothing.

Shortly after the first counterattack, 2 rebel warbirds, 1 cruiser and 3 destroyers went to assist the 13th in Risa. Upon entering they released the Manatas and shot off the torpedos, and destroyed 2 MkII upon the first firing round. However, ammo was running low from the last battle. The Mantas began working on the fighters, and worked them down a bit, while the destroyers attacked the Prowlers.

The Battle of Risa, although briefly turned by the Rebellion, was now back in the ConfederationŐs favor. The remaining Prowlers launched a bombing run on the lone Rebel Destroyer. The space bombs easily pierced through the thin armor of the lone destroyer, causing its hull to violently explode. Meanwhile, the remaining ten Mantas began doggedly persued one Prowler, causing it to sustain critical damage and smash straight into several Mantas. The remaining Mantas, unaware of the Cruiser below them, were torn to shreds by the cruiserŐs proton arrays. The battle was over.

Theta force moves from Risa to via Zaphod ---> Alkain ---> Persephone ---> Turin.
Theta force arranges itself so that its ships are all just behind the hyperspace entry point, ready to pounce on any ships that enter...right from behind the entering vessels. So if any enemy entered, they would be saturated with proton turrets, neutron cannons, torpedoes, particle beams, rockets, space bombs, missiles, and cannons form behind, right up their engines, causing massive damage.

"Finally, " muttered spl_cadet. A job had come in and the 1st Space Attack Fleet (Light) was on the move. A few brief jumps later and they were above the target, Maxell's Purchase in the Kathoon system. However, the expected defenders, Battlegroup 2, wasn't there. Oh well, this will be an easy 10 mil, spl_cadet thought.
