Considering his recent successful assault good luck, the commander of SOG-1 (Admiral Richard Nelson) decided to blitz capture El Santo. Nelson ordered his ships to hyper out of Tiber and into El Santo.

When the BattleGroup arrived in El Santo, they were unprepared for what awaited them. Over one hundred mantas had assembled into several wing groups, and immediately began attacking the Confederation fleet. They started strafing the Confederate Cruisers with immense laser fire, but the huge proton turret and neutron cannon arrays on the Confederate Cruisers made short work of the mantas that dared attack them.
Meanwhile, the Prowlers were much less success full. They were firing off munitions and proton bolts in every direction at the seemingly infinite pack of mantas. Many a Prowler was lost to the concentrated laser fire. However, in the end, the Confederation offensive was successful.
El Santo is now controlled by the Confederation of Republican Worlds

The screens showing the Heran surface a kilometer above radiated the warm glow of early morning sunshine on Shade's face. Around him the command center was busy, with officers moving to and fro among the consoles. Sitting back in his chair, Shade picked up the sheets of message printout which had arrived overnight; one from the Confederate Republic, and one from Darven. Idly reading them, Shade activated the message systems, and began to speak.
"To Prime Minister Alan Rak, from High Commander Shade. I apologise for that; my forces will of course wait in Mentos system. Sincerely, High Commander Shade, leader of the Olympian Solidarity."
"To Nick of Darven, from High Commander Shade. That is an excellent idea; you may expand into Zaxted, while I expand into Sauron and Diphidia. As for the free trade agreement, we will agree to your offer. In return for the opportunity to purchase Tigershark Fighters at base price, you may purchase our Athena Frigates at base price. Sincerely, High Commander Shade, leader of the Olympian Solidarity."
That done, it was time to move. The Solidarity would eventually encompass much of the south, and Shade's might would be assured. The fleet which remained at quick-response positions throughout Olympus moved; four Athenas, four Kestrels, three Corvettes, two Lightnings, and twenty Rapiers.
Olympus --> Canopus --> Sauron
The Olympian merchant fleet which passed through Sauron two hours previously had meant no harm; the latest Solidarity arrivals - two Athenas, two Kestrels, and twenty Rapiers - did. Their first act was to cripple Sauron's long-range sensor buoys; the Sauron defence fleet launched. Sauron was little more than a refuelling post, and had a minimal fleet of ten Corvettes and twenty Rapiers. As soon as they exited the atmosphere, they were hit by torpedo barrages from every Solidarity ship. Torpedos flew in reply from the Sauron ships; one Solidarity Athena and two Rapiers went down. Then the other half of the Solidarity fleet jumped in from Farazon. Under the heavy torpedo barrage from the Olympian ships, the Sauron corvettes were quickly destroyed. The Sauron Rapiers got closer, and were hit by missile and Heavy rocket fire as well as the ever-present torpedos; five Sauron Rapiers went down, as well as three Solidarity Rapiers. Then the Sauron Rapiers got into primary weapons range, and were decimated by Proton fire. The Olympian Solidarity had made it's first conquest.
The Sauron system now comes under the jurisdiction of the Olympian Solidarity

Sorry, I was a day late on this, but I don't have a clue what UE Admiral is doing. I haven't gotten his e-mail back yet. And is that the total rebel fleet purchases? I'm assuming yes, so these are our fleet numbers:

So, after UE Admiral decides on this, and I take care of other buisness with him, we'll be ready.
Marshal Ipvicus leaned back in his command chair and yawned. He had been up for twenty straight hours trying to organize his ships into respectable fleet formations, and only now had he finally gotten everything straightened out. In the center of each of his Battle Groups hung the mighty Confederate Cruisers, leading in front of each of them in a triangle formation were the 3 Confederate Frigates assigned to protect each Cruiser. Likewise centered around each of his Cruisers were 8 Prowler Corvettes arranged in a diamond formation, and spread out in a large screen were the Patrol Ship and Gunboat squadrons assigned to each group.
Satisfied that everything was moving along smoothly Ipvicus ordered Battle Groups One and Two to get under way for the Rigel system, while he kept Battle Group Three on station in Capella.

Nick read the latest message from Shade with interest. He was likely to prove to be Nick's most powerful ally...or his most dangerous enemy. Nick was determined to stop any chance of the latter possibility from happening.
"Greetings Shade, from Nick of Blackthorne. I would like to congratulate you on your conquest of Sauron. I am pleased that you have agreed to the free trade agreement that I have proposed, and I am willing to take it one step farther. What I propose is a complete military alliance. This includes the following: -Complete military aid to any attacker of the allied kingdom -Free passage through allied systems -Ability to land and refuel on allied planets/stations Please consider this offer carefully. I wish an alliance to avoid any possible future conflict between us. It seems that we both want to expand our empires, and we would be each other's most serious threat should we be enemies. Pleased with his message, he sent it off to Shade. Almost holding his breath in anticipation, he hovered over his deep space communicator waiting for his reply.

The twenty Prowlers of Jakazi Force came screaming out of hyperspace into the Turin system right on top of the massed Rebel fleet. As the Rebel ships immediately began orienting themselves to attack these new interlopers the Prowlers screamed full speed towards the largest capital ships firing proton cannons and heavy rockets as they went. As the Mantas and Destroyers began to get targeting locks on the incoming Fed ships the Rebels began to see what the awesome speed and maneuverability of the Prowlers could really do. Missiles and torpedoes whizzed past the prowlers with only the luckiest of shots impacting of the Prowler's shields. As soon as they got in range the prowlers began releasing their most deadly munitions, their space bombs. The large Rebel Cruiser could not escape the massive onslaught of the Prowler's bombs, and as they franticly tried to maneuver out of this incoming tide of death more than half their number erupted into flames. This massive barrage of bombs also took its toll on the attacking Prowlers, however, as five of them were caught in the backlash of their own weapons and destroyed.
With the initial surprise of the attack gone the Rebel ships began to surround the attacking corvettes, the Mantas faster and more maneuverable were swarming on to the Corvettes and inflicting damage while the Warbirds moved to cut off their escape. But the Prowlers were not finished yet... some of them released their remaining bombs into the crowds of manta swarming around them, killing both the Corvettes and the Mantas. Others however aimed their ships towards the Warbirds emptying their last ordinance into the mighty Rebel ships before finally crashing into them with devastating force.
Eventually all was once again quiet, Fires slowly began to flicker out as their atmosphere burned away into the vacuum of space, and rescue crews scrambled from the planet in a valiant effort to save the remaining crews among the doomed Cruisers and Warbirds. None of Jakazi Force survived... but the damage they had done was immense on a scale not before seen in the entire Galactic Civil War.

The governmental offices of Perseus were now set up. As much as Nick enjoyed the moon, he was anxious to get back home and guard Blackthorne should anything come up. He decided to split up his forces, leaving a division of 250 Tigersharks and 20 Corvettes behind at Perseus until he could afford to buy a defense fleet. As Rak reviewed his tactical screen, he made a mental note to reinforce the possible New Cydonian attack routes. They had rebuilt themselves into an immensely powerful navy, and their were rumors they were conspiring with Macavenger, the mythical fleet commander. Rak wanted to ensure they kept their territorial expansion plans out of Confederation space.
News Flash -=- Confederation News Network -=- Today, an historic agreement was established between the Independent Republic of Darven and the Confederation of Republican Worlds. Sources within the Senate Foreign Affairs committee confirm that a right of passage agreement has been signed and approved. Sources also indicate that while the Confederation may have unlimited access, Darven will only be able to peruse Confederation space while having a fleet of under 150M credits worth of ships.

Keri hurried up with a message printout. "It's from Darven, sir." "Thanks." Shade replied. Reading it, he punched the message systems button and began to speak.

This is because nations have in the past come into conflict when the ally of one is attacked by another ally of the other, forcing one alliance or the other to be broken. However I will accept a modified alliance: Neither party will attack the other, or aid a third party to attack one of the alliance members. Ships may pass through and refuel at allied systems. The Solidarity needed ships to protect Sauron; Shade called up the financial statistics, and saw that he had forty-eight million remaining. The Sauron defence force would be composed of: 6 Athenas (18.12 Million) 50 Rapiers (11.9 Million) 3 Kestrels (14.07 Million) Which was a total of 44.09 Million, leaving about 4 Million remaining.
