First TTA ship ready... almost

Hi all,

Well, I finally got round to doing my first ship plugin. You can find it at:

http://www.bisbos.co.../tta_hornet.zip

As it's my first stab at a ship , it should really be a classed as a beta. Please feel free to pick it to bits - I may have got a lot of very obvious things wrong. Also, any comments on the ship specs and weapons loadout? I'm resisting the temptation to create a hideously beweaponed chameleoid death flotilla, and want some proper balanced ships. Eventually they may form part of a TTA TC, but that's a long way off.

Also, there seems to be some problem with the pointing direction - ships seem to fly at a slight angle to the direction of travel - is this changeable using the 'pointing direction'?

There are more ships in the pipeline, so whatever comments and suggestions you make will be built into the next batch.

Comments etc to adrian@bisbos.com

Also for more info on TTA stuff, have a look at www.bisbos.com/rocketscience/tta

Er, I may not be using the proper procedure for this, but I'm a bit of a n00b so don't be too harsh! I promise to be behave properly once shown the error of my ways!

I like them. Feel like I've seen them before somewhere, though...

Ahem...

Use of the Panther built-in zip feature is prohibited for plug-ins.

Why? Because only Panther users (and aware OSX users) are able to use such an archive. Neither Windows people nor OS9 people can.

For more information, and proper way to compress your plug-in, read my guide on the subject.

What you're looking at is a NASA shuttle crossed with something from Homeworld.

Er sorry - hadn't read the Panther ZIP thing, my mistake. I shall redo the thing in the proper way and replace it. Learn something every day... didn't know that the Panther ZIP was so bizarre.

Homeworld... Yep - they do look similar, as the Homeworld guys borrowed from the TTA books! The books, a series of 4, started appearing in 1978 (no really - that long ago...) and were illustrated by some great SF artists of the day. Images from them keep cropping up all over the place.

I was in touch with some Homeworld folks a while back, and was in the process of producing some low-poly models. But I don't have Homeworld, I do have EV:N so there we are.

Anyway - I have seen the error of my compression ways...

You been busy

I've updated the Hornet - it's now a .SIT and can be found at:

http://www.bisbos.co.../TTA_hornet.sit

Busy? No more than most I guess! Lots more to come, but I don't know when. I've got a TTA Manta, Alphan Shark and TTA Gunship ready to go. I'll modify them according to the feedback I get from the Hornet.
