Can anyone give me more precise info of which strings conflict with each other and how they do so? I've gotten some contradictory info by searching older threads.
Specifically, how can I do both Free Huron string and Captain of Freeport missions? I read something about following one of them up until a point and then finishing the other...
Also, I have done the Voinian recruitment mission and the early UE missions so that I can do both strings. Does it matter which I complete first? I read something about a changing stellar in one that made the other impossible to finish, but it wasn't explained fully. Plus, plenty of people say doing both is no problem (as long as you haven't done Rescue Defector before getting Voinian recruitment) while some say do one before the other.
I'm confused!!!!! THX in advance.

Free Huron missions can be found on Huron at the bar. I forget the combat rating needed for it but I guess that it is Average Ability. I do not know about the Captain of Freeport missions, I have always wondered about those missions too. Hope that helps, Crow T. Robot

Well the Free Huron string only changes the Huron system and the Captains of Freeport missions only change the Yelts system; so if one of these is needed by the other string, you'd have to keep it intact until it was no longer needed. There shouldn't be any other conflict as far as I can think. For Captains, you need to get Offender or worse rating in Iothe and then visit the bar on Iothe Prime ... I'm not sure what affects your ability to begin that string.
I've never tried doing both the UE and Voinian strings right through, but the UE string does rather more damage to Voinian space than vice versa so I would suggest going Voinian first ... I think it only changes the Verril system, which I can't recall having an important role in the UE string, but it has been a while ;).
