Silver Horizon - Part I

( OOC to -REDCHIGH- : I don't believe you ever responded as to whether or not you gave permission for Kayan ships to defend Shaego and Ver'Nath. If you did, I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere. Since I have to assume one way or the other for this post, I'll assume that there are 50,000 Kayan ships defending Sheago, the number I mentioned in one of my earlier posts. If I've assumed wrongly simply tell me and I'll edit my post accordingly.)

Shaego system
As the first shots began to fly, Commander Talika, the leader of the Kayan defenders sent to help the Azdgari protect Sheago, looked at the incoming Akrahd fleet with dismay. "Well, it's the moment of truth," he said to nobody in particular. "Open a fleetwide channel to the Teh'Rak ships."

"Channel open," his comm officer replied.

Talika picked up his communicator and spoke: " Teh'Rak forces, this is Commander Talika of the Kayan Alliance speaking. Though we stand for peace and harmony, and have no desire to fight you, we will do what we must to defend our allies, the Azdgari. This system is under Kayan protection, and if you do not break off your attack on the soviergn Azdgari system of Sheago immediately, we will respond with whatever force is necessary to help protect Sheago and it's innocent Azdgari inhabitants. "

(If the Teh'Rak break off their assult within about twenty seconds of the Kayan transmission, the Kayans will not open fire on them. If the Teh'Rak don't respond within about twenty seconds, or if they open fire on any Kayan ships, all Kayan ships will commence attacks on the Teh'Rak vessels in an effort to help defend Sheago. There are 10,000 defense drones, 15,000 Fireflies, 10,000 Aradas, 7,400 Laziras, 7,400 Gunships, and 200 Hive class Carriers present.)

Sheago

  • Any swear word you can think of, well insert here! , said Fri Eag. How can so many ships get into one single system.... It reminds me of the Edien invasion, they ought to be stopped at all cost. Use all fighters as bolts to devastate every enemy in sight.

Message to Parliament Hill , coded

Sheago is filled with devils:

40 000 thousand fighters from an unknown place, probably Horoth relatives, they used similar technologies. They have some cloaking capacities.

Then there is the Kayan Alliance that is present and has offered us to stop the raid, but I these Horoth-Edien relatives have totally different orders.

I therefore ordered all ships to ram into all enemies. And to all warships to pack themselves to get to deflect with their shield the incoming ordinances.

Also, the constant Ťon-lineť encrypted communication is sent to Parliament Hill about the battle, all sensors send information to you, to better help the Clan to fight against the evil forces.

A Meassage from Commander Fri Eag

Korellian

Eleven divisions were protecting the system with S-D-1 and a shield upgrade and the addition of the turreted Storm torpedo tubes.

Out of the forty thousand ships available from stellar restriction, thirty thousand were in direction of Sheagi to help the defend the system against a possible attack. Now, about five hundred ships were in each Teh’Rak system.

The Azdgari over Lavrii prime land, disambark, and run into a representative.. "Welcome to the Tribunal of the Arbiters of the Lavrii Union!"
"Thank you, but we have no time for chit chat... where's the meeting? We're in the middle of a war with the Akrahd, I'd like to get to military support issues...."
----------------------------

"Have you heard?"
"What are you, a moron? Of course I've heard! Where's Angie?!"
"In the War-Room...."
"Thank you.." And RED took off, running toward the War-room.. it took forever, although it was just down the hall. He bursts through the door, nearly running into Angien."Angien! Give me the Stats!"
"Our ships aren't exactly in dire straights, we've handled worse. Akrahd ships total over 20,000, but we have allied Horosk in the system.. they're fighting as well as can be expected. As for our totals, the Defense fleet is gone, but the fleets you had me move are moderately untouched."
"Good. get me a map."
"Here let me pull it up." Angien pushes a button, and a map of the system comes up.
"No, no, not the system map. Galactic map."
Angien looks puzzled, but pulls up the map anyway.
"Move it down... down... to the left slightly. Now what system is F2?"
"I believe it's called.. Korellian 3. It's a Teh-Rak outpost system."
"Excellent! We have Interceptor and Frigate squadrons in Ver'Hath, correct?"
"Yes, Sir."
"Ok, your orders are to take back Sheaghi. Make sure you gain a victory, you have clearence to call as many fleets as you need. Is Admiral Leathers around?"
"Yes, she's over at the console..." "Thank you. You're excused."
Redchigh watched her run off.

Red calls out "ADMIRAL Lancaster!! Attention Present!"
Alic heard it, and ran hurried over. Although just as devoted, and as much as she tried to act sure, she wasn't as experienced at border missions, obvious by the sweat on her brow.
"Admiral Lancaster, Present!"
"Good.. I have a mission for you. "
"Um.. you sure you want me?"
"Yes. Your orders are to command the ships in Sheagho. Make sure you gain a victory, you should have more than enough ships to play with. If you need more, contact me for Authorization"
"Yes, Sir!" and she ran off to complete her mission from her private office, branched off from the War-Room.

REDchigh then walked to his own office, to make a daring move.. that would hopefully make history. Or else cost a thousand brave lives.
"Hail to Frigate and Interceptor Squadrons in Ver-Hath. Come in."
"We read you, REDchigh."
"I want you to set course for Kerillian3. Make sure you have plenty of Defensive Carriers enter first, to create dissarray, then do as much damage as you can. "
"Yes, Sir!"
"Warfleets in Ver'Hath, make haste to the Sheagho system and engage enemy forces there."

Sorry for bringing up the rule to protect my rear to write more in the future:
All nation can make three jumps per posts, the Sladerei and Azdgari can make four.
Korellian III is five posts await from Var‘Neth...

NSI-1312

Battalion P.B1354 were patrolling when the Azdgari fleet entered the system with its usual arrogant speed and brutality. Both sides fired at the same time.

Message to Parliament Hill , coded

An Azdgari fleet entered NSI-1312 with ten Defensive Carriers and started to launch its mines at us. We fired our long range rail guns, missiles and torpedoes at them to destroyed as much and as quickly as possible to slow down their mine laying capacities. The three fighter squadrons rapidly swarmed them, the squadrons Lion Spears and the squadron of Defilers constantly ravaged their shields and armour.

Later

NSI-1312 is now under the attack of nine hundred Azdaras, ten Igadzra and fifty Aradas, I demand assistance to better protect the Clan. Wait they have some seventy bomber frigates incoming.

A Message for the Patrol Battalion 1354 in NSI-1312

Two divisions from Korellian III came in to help their fellows. The 7720 ships immediately fired upon the invader and reduced to hashes their fleet.

As the Azdgari vessels were taken down one by one, the Storm torpedo’s unique guidance system was use to target a more or less precise location in the system where mines were. Then it was set to explode and so did many mines.

Battle of NSI-1312

Azdgari

All ships are destroyed, mines are still spread all around NSI-1312, but under destruction using an old concept.

Teh‘Rak

375 fighters lost, 270 patrol boats, 100 warships of various kinds.

.......................................................................

Six squadrons of fighters, two of Lions Spears and Defilers are present in each of the following systems (reiteration of old stuff): NSI-1312, NSI-1313, Ollin, NSI-0312 and more rarely in NSI-9002.

Korellian III

The remaining seven divisions were all on stand by, five of them were actively patrolling the system in case of another Azdgari incursion.

Sheagi

The six divisions present in Sheagi were under heavy tension, mostly because Nedeja Psack was in command. They laugh at the small Azdgari fleet that came an eat it as an appetiser. The twenty three thousand one hundred sixty Teh’Rak ships rained over the six hundred ships.

Battle of Sheagi
Teh‘Rak

-200 fighters down, 130 Missile Boats out, 100 warships of various kinds are no more.

Azdgari

No more Azdgari fleet in Sheagi.

Sheago

-What a freaking mess it is out here! Continued Fri Eag as all Teh’Rak ships continued to send all their ammunitions and fighters against their three enemies.

-Anyone that has seen kamikaze over the Pacific in movies, well imagine ten times greater, and with atomic bombers, I don‘t feel like writing a post now about the battle long enough to entertain the balcony...-

Ten, then twenty, then thirty seconds passed, and still the Teh'Rak attack continued. "Well, I guess we have no choice then..." Talika said to himself. "This is Commander Talika to all Kayan forces: Fire at will, drive off the Teh'Rak attackers!"

The Kayan fighters rushed forward into the fray with blazing speed, joining the Azdgari and Horosk vessels already present. Fireflies and Aradas strafed larger warships and even managed to outmaneuver much of the secondary weaponry being fired at them. Larger Laziras and Gunships ran bombing runs with Enhanced Defense Pods, all under the support of cover fire from the Defense Drones.

As the battle evolved, the Kayan forces in Sheago were in a state of perpetual motion, using their agility and speed to evade kamakazi Teh'Rak fighters. The Fireflies had little trouble escaping the kamakazi attacks, and the Aradas fared almost as well, though the larger Laziras, Gunships, and Carriers were taking a bit of a beating.

"Don't give up," Talika radioed to his forces. "We can't let Sheago fall!"

The Akrahd are stricken with Terror as Angien's fleet compliment jumps in... Accented by the strongest ship in the Galaxy.. An Azdgari Supercruiser. The Akrahd relax when it jumps out, only to realize a greater terror.
It's an invasion...

As Angien's fleet jumps out, the Warfleets in Ver'hel jump in, overwhelming the akrahd even more so. They leave behind their Azdaras, and jump out to assist Angien.

Sheaghi
The following fleet jumps into Sheaghi, with Horosk help planned for later.
15,200 Azdaras, 21,700 Aradas, 12,970 Laziras, 5,100 Igadzras, 2320 Carriers, and amongst it all, shining like a beacon, An Azdgari Supercruiser-

The fleet surges forward, engaging the Akrahd forces.

As the fleet jumps in, a few prepared Azdgari on the surface initiate hidden bio generators, freezing all non-azdgari life in a temporary state of suspended animation. A frigate then drops bombs, taking out ground forces as it lands several thousand ground tanks....

Admiral Tereth grinned as the Akrahd reacted to his force. His carriers fighters simply swarmed over the Akrahd fighters trying to ram them, and hit them with AP Beam Strips. When outnumbered by over 6 to 1, it was a futile attempt. Not a single enemy fighter survived the attack by the Horosk and Kayans. He turned his gaze to the enemies heavy ships, and simply stared. Then his tactical officer called out.
'Sir, the Akrahd ships are bunching up to protect their weaker ships!'
'I noticed. If they're going to make it easy for us, we may as well use it. Order all ships to concentrate rocket fire on the heaviest concentrations. The area damage will allow us to kill even more of them. Continue concussion missile fire on the battleships. Comms, activate full jammers as well, to disrupt the datastream they seem to be sending.'
'Orders out, sir'
'Jammers active, sir. Datastream is being disrupted.'

Gah, sorry for not responding earlier.

Rarkyl have a total of about 2 million vessels, with 1 million almost always in the coreworlds at all times and only called out in the most dire circumstances. You produced about 10,000 ships per post. Each one of my bases is defended, in general, by about 50,000 ships, with a lot of extra ships in Lakai.

Sheago

For the past hours, all Storm, Hail, Typhoon, Hurricane ordinance were fired at the slow ships ramming into the enemy with devastating effect. The pseudo immunity of the Horosk was useless since their huge number made it easy to find their position. Then the secondary were sent at them and knocked down a lot of them.

The fighters were in great number, but had to face the wall of warship and could not penetrate it since they were taken down one by one with the anti-matter batteries that created a wall of energy before the Teh’Rak Space Assault.

-Prepare to hyper out in direction of NSI-0320, said Fri Eag in coded transmission.

All ships hyper out from Sheago when they could.

NSI-0320

Though it was a disorganized exit, they were able to gather all together in NSI-0320. Their shield were now all recharged and they could continue on their fight against the AIR.

Jamming probes were left to modify the signature of their jump to any ship trying to know where they head. Strangely, it indicated Capfall...

Message to Free Pirate League , coded

We request your permission to harbour a fleet of ours in Calla to repair it. Fifty millions of credit are delivered to you and Caple is release from our hand, but remains an harbour in which we can refuel and trade.

By the way, your fret can now reach the other Akrahd Clan, since we have a trade arrangement with them. Money comes with us.

The Hail and Storm secondary blue print should be available when your will refuse to help the Azdgari or Kayan or Horoks or any enemies from us.

A Message for the Akrahd Teh‘Rak Clan

Calla

Fir Eag met with Captain I’Vil.

-Nice to meat you Captain, I hope that this informal meting can link our two nation better and prevent any more slips between the two of us. Here is the credit stick.

-Your ships will be repaired as soon as possible

Caple

The five divisions guarding Caple left the system in direction of NSI-4200. The five divisions stayed there to protect S-D-1 that would soon come.

NSI-4200

The nineteen thousand three hundred ships were all on red alert to stabilized the system from any Azdgari or Horosk incursion. S-D-1 and its powers to repair during the combat any ships, was constantly upgraded to increase its shield. Now it totalized more than three thousand and fifty. However, it was still not present.

The subspace disturbances were still present. A group of one hundred fighters were sent to investigate the precise location of the enemy, now they knew it was the Horosk. When the fighters realized that they were surrounded by the disorder they left the area.

Then the Hail, Storm, Typhoon, Hurricane secondary head in that direction and exploded all around the Horosk ships. The Survenant explosive created sub-space irregularities and shook again more the opposing forces. The fifty carrier and there escort were taken down one by one.

I am not sure if subspace fold is like being in hyper space, so you can fire at them. Otherwise I will erase that part.

Later

S-D-1 made its entry in NSI-4200, with a division to escort it. Now a bit less than six division were standing in guard, ready to back a strategic retreat from Sheagi. S-D-1 was now protected by a shield grid of four thousand energy units. Its modular construction permitted to bear a direct attack on its structure for a long period of time.

Sheagi

Two Divisions were added from the reserve gathered in the recent past. Now, Nedeja was commanding eight divisions that could. All were patrolling to get ready to attack again. All major facilities were mined an set to explode remotly or at a certain moment...

OOC:I never said my fighters attacked the warships. and trust me. They can break through enemy fire. The Interceptors are armed with beams as well, which means they can get a lot in. Plus it's 3 dimensional space. That and the fighters move damned fast. And the amount of Horosk ships is actually pretty small in overall terms. Also note that you cant detect the sub-space fold. It was made to defeat the most advanced sensors. So no seeing a sub-space anomaly.

Shaego
Admiral Tereth grimaced as the Akrahd tried shooting in the general direction of his fleet, but they simply didnt have a lock on most of the ships, and the jammers switched to full power on the the ships which were successfully targeted, causing munitions to go wide, and those which looked as if they might get in range of a ship being shot down by AP Beam Turrets. He watched the Interceptor swarms burst through the Akrahd attempts to block them, cuasing carnage among them.
'Sir, sensors detect Akrahd hyperdrives warming up!'
'Prepare to recall the fighters and set course to follow.'
'Aye, sir'

NSI-0320

Readings indicate they headed for Capfal, but they say they never detected the Akrahd in hyperspace, and the readings are rather distorted, indicating they are fake. Kar'Neth reports no Akrahd also. Detailed sensor scans indicate they have headed for NSI-822. Altneb reports a weak report on its scanners in the last few hours, which then vanished.'
'Set course for NSI-822, and send in stealthed ships to Calla and Levti. The Akrahd sensors are incapable of detecting our cloaks under sub-space fold.'

MOD- Correct, as far as I'm concerned; the Teh'Rak would detect nothing from the cloaked Horosk ships. Also, they cannot be attacked while in sub-space, even if you're lucky enough to hit in the corresponding area of realspace.

The Azdgari have temporary biological suspension pods, which suspend all living tissue. The rules for three-four jumps can't really be kept to religiously all the time, so five shouldn't really need moderation.

Carnotaur; considering my next move, and whether or not I want to play in a story against seven enemies.

Horosk
Eriqui was admitted into the meeting room of Chairman RMA of the Horosk Union after a considerable wait which she had to convince herself to admit wasn't particularly long, considering the circumstances involved.

After a brief exchange of formalities, Eriqui was asked to sit on the only chair in the meeting room. Realising that the chairman and various officials with him would all "remain floating", she politely requested the right to stand. Another more lengthy exchange of formalities followed, until both sides embarrassingly admitted a great distaste to formalities, apologised, explained they were simply trying to make the other seem at home, and then apologised for apologising. After that lengthy conversation had ensued, which Eriqui found to be considerably average for a meeting with an unknown, they got down to business. "Our proposal is along the lines of an exchange of various technological advantages we have - not the important ones, of course, until further trust can be established. I was particularly impressed by the... mass duplication? The guide pointed out one of the facilities."

"The shipyards we're using were designed from the Federation, Voinian and Crescent shipyards, and are quite effective - more so than the shipyards utilised by the Azdgari, Kayans or Miranu, who make use of twenty year old Federation specifications or Crescent ones. If you would be interested, a trade between our shipyards and your mass duplication ma be extremely profitable to us both in increasing our production." She smiled then; one of her most successful ploys in diplomacy. "I don't know about you, but the Strand League has the income to build three to four times as many ships as its producing - it's the capabilities of our shipyards that are being stretched. Mass duplication would provide a very useful boost to us."

"Also... our targetting systems have proved inferior in various engagements with the Akrahd, and it is completely impossible for us to utilise our beam weaponry for its most perfect use - point defence - until we are able to track missiles effectively, and lock on to them quickly. I've yet to 'confer with my government' - which I think we can both admit actually means 'consider your proposal' in diplomacy - but I'm fairly sure we wouldn't want to trade kyhdron beam technology or duelbeam weaponry for your targetting systems... however, we have multiple layered shielding which is especially effective on fighters. Thus, I think it would be a fair exchange; our multi-emitter shielding for your targetting systems, which will enable us to use all our beam weapons as point defence systems."

"Oh...and..." Eriqui paused. "I know this is premature, but we seriously need help with an alien invasion. Is there any possibility you could spare a few squadrons to help us attack the opponents - while we decoy their main fleet? In return, the Council of Four will give you just about anything we can give you."

Persephone

{From: Council of Four, Silverbridge}
{To: Kayan Union}

Friends; we wish you well, and hope that your government is prospering. Our greatest apologies for our inaction of late, but we are under a major attack in the Small Megellanic Cloud galaxy, and have thus had problems.

Rest assured, no matter what occurs in SMC, the aliens shall not invade LMC - we can permanently or temporarily shut down the wormhole from this side, so that they cannot open it, and we can also close the wormhole while they are in it, which will destroy everything they have. There is no way the alien invaders will make it through to LMC. You remain as safe as always.

Due to this attack, however, we were unable to come to your aid in recent events with the Teh'Rak. Rest assured, the Strand League, the arm of justice, shield of the New Galaxy, is doing everything in its power to fulfill its purpose. However, at the moment, everything in our power is nothing against the Teh'Rak.

We are desperate, neighbours. We need help, and we need it quickly. It won't be long until we are completely overrun. However, there is a way for us to turn this all the other way round, and to destroy our enemies.

And to do this, we need your aid. We beg of you this - we need four tachyonic generators, and we need them within no more than two weeks. Our plan is to trap out opponents in the Kassadar system, and thus the generators must be deployed in Wendar, Lapet, Tui and Ciar after the aliens move in to attack Kassadar. We'll then shut down the wormhole, detonate anything they could use within Kassadar, and stage an attack on their homeworld with the aid of, hopefully, the Horosk.

Please, respond quickly. The fate of LMC might not hang in the balance of your decisions, but the fate of SMC does.

{end transmission}

{From: Council of Four, Silverbridge}
{To: Miranu}

We would ask that you join the Strand League, who have many times come to your aid against those who would destroy you, in a union of equals to help fend off the Akrahd - the Galactic Community, combining the Miranu, Strand League, Azdgari and Kayans. We have yet to ask our other two neighbours, however.

Enclosed is details on what we want to make reality over time (OOC: already discussed, so it needn't be restated). We're currently in a considerably difficult situation in the SMC, but there is no danger to you, and with the help of the Kayans, the situation will be resolved soon, so worry not.

If you are interested in helping us create the Galactic Community, we would ask of you - perhaps prematurely - to look into sensors and targetting jammers. If you will ally with us, we will give you duelbeam, kyhdron, particle railgun and disc technology.

{end transmission}

Kassadar
Almost 50,000 ships had been lost, and Valenna, Esurus and Takita were now in the control of the ruthless alien murderers that had swarmed upon the unsuspecting Ring Alliance. 50,000 ships gathered at Kassadar, and raiding parties were sent out to quickly attack the three infested systems and pull back, after having little success.

{From: Kassadar}

Gre'Z
The attack on Gre'Z was, it had to be admitted, tactically unsound. 50,000 Strand League vessels suddenly appeared, apparently from nowhere, in the system, greatly outnumbering the Shar' Nadda defenders. Of course, even moving as fast as they could, the Shar' Nadda from the rest of their worlds didn't have time to get there before it would be too late.

And even if they did, they wouldn't hold enough of a numerical advantage for an easy win.

The Strand League moved in as quickly as possible, railguns battering away at the Shar' Nadda's defenders, less then 10,000 in number (OOC: common sense, you have 100,000 or so ships in defence right now). Outnumbered and outmatched, the Shar' Nadda were falling extremely quickly. Their weapons were ineffective, and their hordes of Latchers, for as much as they tried, couldn't get anywhere near to the IGNA and ZSN ships, that simply tore through them at close range with kyhdron weaponry or simply duelbeam. It is to be noted, that the duelbeam on a Zirada is enough to lay waste to a Crescent Warship with 250 shields - the old design used twenty or so years ago - in a few seconds. Latchers were simply slaughtered.

Meanwhile, IGNA began a bombardment on the planet, destroying everything there was there, killing everything that lived ruthlessly and efficiently.

(OOC: Grunadulater, reinforcements amounting to 95,000 or so are available to arrive in your next post from your other worlds, but by then the battle WILL be over and I will be leaving for your capital itself. Thus, by the time your reinforcements arrive, I'll be in hyperspace to Shar' Nadda after ripping Gne'Z apart. Your ships that took Esurus WON'T be able to arrive in your next post, but I'll write them as arriving in MY next post)

NSI-232
The Strand League fleet was still in good shape, and although the Gamaerans were attempting a stand-off while they were under the "safety of the asteroids", it helped little. Scarabs hunted down Gamaerans ships and sent them to hell, easily avoiding the asteroids as, after all, Strand League space has so many asteroids in it that they were built to avoid them.

The Gamaeran fleet was in wrecks, and the Strand League simply turned and returned to Zeus for repairs. Within a few days, they would come back to NSI-232, clear up any remaining mess with a better prepared fleet, and continue their patrols. The most recent supply of newly constructed ships was sent to Zeus' fleet, bringing the figures back to normal.

Draco
When commodore Bariol of Draco was told that 75,000 Gamaeran vessels had somehow got around the major defensive base in Appnyl , he simply laughed out loud. Draco was defended by 50,000 ships, and another 75,000 patrolled the Arkadi sector regularly.

Indeed, the battle wasn't a clever one. Although with superior numbers, they were outgunned and outmatched. A single Igazrada could wipe the floor with an Akrahd battleship with 50% of its shields left, recent tests had shown, and the IGNA-ZSN combination was massively superior to the Akrahd's tactics.

Things were looking bad for the Gamaerans, and then 50,000 ships came in from the Arkadi sector arrived, and the word "bad" became massively inappropriate. Pincered in by two 25,000 IGNA reefs and devastated by 50,000 ZSN vessels streaking through their ranks, they were, quite simply, in trouble. The fact that Draco's DL silos and railgun batteries were opening fire didn't exactly make things easier for them, either.

*Technology
The scorpion disc had undergone a very quick change, replacing the armour and various other areas with faster engines. Effectively, it was turned into something more closely resembling a rocket. The reason for this was simple.

The Strand League had issued a statement that guided weaponry was a complete waste of time. They had announced that Scarab discs were to be replaced soon after the new "Scorpion" assualt rockets were complete. It's replaced was to be called the "fast-rocket" - travelling so fast that, effectively, nothing actually had time to get out of the way, and with a very long range, fast-rockets couldn't be stopped by anything so simple as a jamming system. Point defence would be somewhat effective, but their speed made that more difficult that it would usually be, as fast-rockets were to travel faster than perhaps any other "missile" in existance - after all, they only needed forward engines, and not lateral ones.

Assualt Rocket: 3/12 (nothing major changed from the Scorpion disc)
Izirion Fighter: 8/12

Cygna Cluster Outposts: 1/3 -halted-
Aries Primus Colonisation: 6/6
- A major colony, including extensive defences and a massive industrial base (ship production will be raised by 250/post due to the output of Aries Primus, and by more after the colony has been expanded)

Kenra called a meeting of Staff about the Galactic Community. If they were deciding they would all decide together. The Staff of course took awhile to get used to the idea, but eventually they all sullenly agreed that the Galactic Community would probably keep all of them safer.

Kenra nodded as they finally agreed. "Alright then, second issue, the Strand League has asked us to look into jammers and sensors. Now, considering todays present state of technology, these should be very strong if we even hope to keep up with anyone else. I would like to work on sensors first, does anyone have any objections?"

The Staff raised no objections, and was still taking in what the Galactic Community would be that they weren't quite totally listening to Kenra.

Kenra smiled chillingly. "Well then, I'd imagine we'd better start researching.

The new sensor type was begun research on. It would cut down interference many times over, and Kenra was sure that no one would complain about their targetting problems who had this on it's ship. It would most likely cut through almost all missile jammers. Of course, it wouldn't cut through cloaks, but that wasn't the aim.

Message from: Miranu

After a long bit of discussion, the Miranu has decided that we would like to be part of your Galactic Community. It would be safer for all we believe. Your request is not premature, and we have already begun on a long project with our sensors. We shall call them Deep Scan sensors, and when we are done researching, all of the Galactic Community will be able to have them.

"These are indeed dangerous times," Kyala thought to himself. "We have had to help the Azdgari fight off the Akrahd, and now we recieve word of an even greater threat from the Strand League. If this threat is as great as they say it is, which I have no doubt it is indeed, then we must assist them in stopping it."

After conferring with representitives from all five corps (military, scientific, diplomatic, engineering, and labor), and getting the approval of the Kayan Senate, Kyala scrawled out a reply to the Strand League.

Message to the Strand League, Council of Four, Silverbridge
Point of Origin - Galactica - New Kayia - Office of the Prime Minister

We realize the dangers that this threat of invasion presents to us, and will help you in any way we can to preserve the peace and harmony of the New Galaxy. I understand that your plan calls for the use of Tachyonic Generators on Horosk vessels. If the Horosk are willing to allow our people to run the generators, then will provide the scientists and engineers to maintain and run three tachyonic generators, as well as the generators themselves. Be advised that the generators require a phenomonal amount of energy to run, and thus I suggest bringing plenty of reserves.

We hope sincerely for the success of this mission, because we are all in this together.

Chairman RMA looked at Eriqui for a moment, then replied, 'Our military would indeed like to be able to produce more ships. From what we know of Federation and Voinian shipyards, they would indeed help increase our production. I can authorise the release of our mass duplication technology to the Strand League, in return for improved shipyards from you.
'The exchange of our targeting systems for your multi-emitter shields seems to be fair, although we must insist on the latest shield specifications.
'We are also interested in this dampening technology of yours. We believe it could prove useful. In return, we can offer you our structural reinforcement field, which would allow you to double your armours effectiveness.
'As for your request for help, who would it be against, and what can you offer?'

We would like to offer a true alliance, and request that you trade some of your technologies with us.The Shield Ram of yours looks interesting, as do the Ion Engines. We ask what you would want in return, and remind you of our help.

“You are insane, Sojin. Beyond all doubt, you are truly insane!” Sojin paid the voice no mind as he looked around the corner towards Kazani’s flat. This time though, he had to agree with Raven. He was taking a foolish risk with one last look before launch off. Still, Sojin had always done things this way, to make sure there were no threats.

They had managed to climb out of the sewers unnoticed, though the milita probably knew by now that Kazani had vanished without a clue. The scrambler worked well in that regards, though they had an hour left to move. Satisfied that there was no threat from the guards watching Kazani’s flat, Sojin had holstered his blaster and motioned silently, pointing to the starport. They had reached everything without incident and Kazani was taken into Raven’s custody before he had come back.

Sojin tapped his wristlink and a small holographic image appeared over it. It was a map of the immediate vicinity around Kazani’s flat. He studied it for a moment and shook his head before switching it off and turning around. The poor fools would never suspect a thing, not until he was long gone from this planet. Perhaps he would go south next. Or to one of the more benign pirate ports.

Half an hour back on the Raven, Sojin had decided to leave well into the night, so as not to arrouse suspicion. Besides he had a message to send. Tapping his wristlink, Sojin prepared that very message.

Don’t bother to trace this message or decode its frequency. You can’t find me and you don’t know me, though I’m sure an aqanitnce of mine gave you my name. Know that Sojin Kiran can’t be hunted down or tracked. I’ve never been caught and I intend to stay that way. As well, consider who you choose to watch more carefully next time, or you’ll find me a much bigger threat than a smuggler.

MOD- Redchigh, the Azdara's shields of 200 are revoked by me. Consider them to be 75 until Carnotaur can look into it, okay? This is assuming it's shipyard scale, of course. Also, the Igazra was 500 shields from your old designs before, so it would be something of a struggle to get it to 2500 (perhaps the very maximum) - 2000 might be more reasonable considering it was EVO scale before you upgraded it. For the AA-2, make it 150 shields.

(edit)wait...if that's in ResEdit scale, not shipyard scale, it's not upgraded at all (?)(/edit)

We are massively in your debt. A courier will be sent, under the guard of an Izagra and a Zira, to Athena, along with the specifications for duelbeam. I'm sure you'll find the weaponry useful - it is one of the most powerful primary weapons in known space, and definately the most powerful in this galaxy. If you need anything else, just ask us, although please note a full-scale invasion of our worlds is making military support sort of difficult right now.

"We agree on all of those terms," came the certain reply, totally missing over the 'confering with government' line which was really a lie anyway. "The designs will be made available immediately - I have them on my ship."

"As for the enemies, they live in the SMC galaxy, that we previously thought only we inhabited. They cannot communicate, and they attacked us fiercely. We don't know who they are, but all we know is that they have killed billions already." Eriqui handed over a map of SMC. "This might help."

Chairman RMA looked at Eriqui for a moment. 'If what you say is true, the Horosk may be able to help. Looking at the map of the SMC, being ceded certain areas would ensure our help. If you can promise outposts for us to build from in certain sectors, it will help matters. As well as the Strand League helping us out should we require it against the Rarkyl, Ediens, or some other enemy in the future.'
Chairman RMA floated a bit higher and wondered how the Horosk could use this to their advantage even more.

Sojin pulled his black gloves tight and holstered his pulse pistol before checking his pack. He looked around at his handiwork and nodded to himself. Microfusion charges were set evenly about Kazani’s flat. ready to be set off and this place blown skyhigh. With it would go a few good pieces of evidence as well.

Sojin had come back once more, this time to clear up some remaining refuge. Kazani had mentioned that she could start over somewhere else, and this place would only be a link to her. And after all, Sojin Kiran had been good with explosives. Raven hadn’t protested overly much, but the smuggler was sure to hear about it after the launch.

Sojin slipped back down from the way he had come, counting under his breath. Upon turning a corner, though, he lost all thought of counting as he ran into a Zidagar of the Magistrate's Militia. He wasn’t sure who was more startled, him or the soldier. The Zidagar gave a start and before Sojin could react, seemed to hit a comlink and was about to say something.

Sojin let out an oath that could’ve done well for a Voinian and his pulse pistol was in hand. Two bolts of blue energy flew through the Zidagar, dropping him dead in his tracks. Sojin let out another oath and as he holstered his weapon, he gave the dead corpse a look of pity and said, “Tough rocks, fellow. This is the way the universe works.”

With those words, Sojin rushed up and was in the street in a matter of a few minutes. Sojin hit his wristlink and punched in a few commands.

Then he ran as if the fury of an entire navy were on his trail. He wasn’t sure it wasn’t in that regard.

Before Sojin could reach his ship, there was a large flare of light as the sound of an explosion sounded. “Raven, prep for launch within ten minutes of my return! Things may have just got a bit hotter out here.”
