Thoughts of EV/EVO veterans on EV3

There is only one thing that I have not done in EVO. What is that council station for and are there any missions connected with it? if so how do I get them? Please tell!

Killing Pirates is fun... I have a UE Cruiser w/ voinion and phase turrets, Plasma siphon, and a bunch of other things... including 6 UE Cruiser escorts. So I like killing Pirates 😉 (And yes, I got all that without cheating) Plus over 50 million credits... 😉 But, anyway, EVN sounds fun. Surprisingly enough, almost all it's new features were new features that my brother and I dreamed up for new version of EV, so I like it :-

Council Station is just there for plug-in makers to get ideas. If you have three hours and a lot of luck you can take it over but I've never done that.

Resedit with a little wiseness and Pilot File Editor with a little dumbness suffices...

I remember the first time I got EV, I had hardly played computer games at all (boy, that was a while ago!) and I could fly around, but I couldn't land. I would overshoot the planet by about seven ship lengths. Then one day I landed, and I was so happy....
Yup, I was pretty pathetic.
I also remember the first time I dominated almost all the planets.

I think I'll take up Wudan.

I remember when I killed a few Voinian Frigates with a shuttle and three blaze cannons..........NO Cheating........ 🆒

Well, I think that would be possible if you were a good pilot, and just kept dodging the turrets and rockets, and taking every opportunity to fire your cannons at the frigate. It would take a while, but it would work. The big Voinian frigates aren't that fast, ya know... I took a whole fleet of 'em out with a Crescent Warship, and three phase turrets, which are less effective against Voinian armor. The Crescent Warship is slower than a shuttle, too.

This has been taken care of in Nova.

I wonder who will be the first EVN vet's, not me, I intend to go slowly and soak up the cool new stuff...

I'm not sure if I should be offended or not.

I have tried that in some games..... but then i figure heck with it and end up beating it in a week (Nova will probably take longer). Then when I am done I go back and beat it agin a little more slowly to make sure I don't miss anything.

I remember the first time I headed north, in the attempt to reach the Miranu (I saw a map of the whole universe beforehand) I ran out of fuel pretty quick. Luckily I had enough cash to get some fuel off of some other ships up there.

Anyway, shouldn't this topic be on the EV or EVO forum?

I remember the first time I beat the Huron missions with the big battle at the end. I ended up spending more money beating it then how much they paid you, but I was not very good then. Now you could throw me in a shuttle and I would have beat them.

Hehe, I remember the time I took on the Voinian dreadnaught with my prototype azdara! It took me nearly 45 minutes and my hands were deformed into neanderthal-like claws by the time it was dead. Man did it feel good to watch that beast crumble.

As much as I enjoyed reading this, it really doesn't belong on this board. I'm moving it to the EVO board. Sorry guys.

Heh -- if you ever get overwhelmed by novelty in EV3, I've got an upcoming plug-in taking place in the future of EVO that will get your nostalgia-circuits working again.

It's too early to say much more, but I don't intend to give up on it.
