    RE: Project Multi Sketch II

If the (original) project is still open, I would like to complete my area. I have been unable to work for several months due to school and a 4-week-long stay in Ohio, but I should be able to work on it now soon.

    Thanks,

    Flurrie

    RE: Overgrown Factory

Nice level, Sidepipe! Having played both versions, I can now give my opinion.

    Good

•I like the Forest walls that overlay the Factory corridors. Nice combination of environments.
•The two drones trapped in boxes in the walls were...entertaining. I must've watched them for 5 minutes!
•The randomly stacked boxes near the exit seemed to suggest a hasty evacuation of the Factory. I like it!

    Bad

•The passages are (in my opinion) too narrow in some places, especially near the "waterfall" area.
•The forest walls are almost too bright for the other scenery.
•The short mover blocking the exit can be destroyed by the wave gun. Try making the box Not Solid, or giving it -1 health.

Overall 4/5, great level, and I can't wait to see more!

    RE: SketchGroup

Sounds like a good idea to me. This might even help new mappers develop levels with the help of more experienced designers. Each SketchMapper could also supply links to the levels that they've made, as a kind of a level archive.

    RE: Project Multi Sketch II

I'm probably past the two-week deadline, but I would like to make an area for this project if you're still accepting members.

    RE: Where is everyone?

Many people also work on making very large maps, like Cathedral of Chaos. These are excellent maps, but they take a lot of time to make, and as Mackilroy pointed out, they are usually oriented towards more skilled players. That might explain the empty multiplayer lobby: everyone is busy writing maps!

    Crazy Zone Update

A new take on the multi-player Crazy Zone

I saw a screenshot of FireFalcon's Crazy Zone concept while several pages back in the web boards, and I thought "Hey, that's pretty cool. Too bad the project was abandoned." So here's my take on the Crazy Zone. This level is not yet complete, as I need to add the Core and the Pre-Boss 1 to it, but it is playable through the Heart of the Forest. There are some secrets, but they are an afterthought, and aren't really well hidden.

    RE: New(?) Boss Concept

@Silverwind: Yeah, the concept isn't new, but I just haven't seen it used much.
@ZPedro: My hard drive is (very) full, to within 200 MB, so this may cause some of the lag on my computer. The script that I had to use for the boss is not really what I wanted, but the default (Guardian) didn't work very well on the map layout. This may account for some confusion. The "Race Goal" sprite is also acting kinda weird, but I don't know exactly why.

Thanks for your comments, and if you have any improvements, please let me know.

    New(?) Boss Concept

    tell me what you think

I'm not really sure if this is "new", but it certainly seems worth a go.

    Attached File Boss_Arena.zip (5.3K)
    Number of downloads: 15

The idea is that the whole level is a boss area, and the boss chases you around. When you kill it, the door is opened to the center area. This map causes lag problems (to the point of being unplayable) on my 500Mhz PowerPC iMac, so I haven't been able to beta test it much. Comments welcome!

    RE: Computer Worries

Thank you, Pi. I was unaware (somehow) of SKF's system requirements, so it's a relief to know that I don't need an overkill computer.

    Thanks,
