    1. Spun Carbon sounds a lot like Spun Diamond... As a matter of fact, Diamond, effectively, is Carbon.

Yes, if I may quote the Spun Diamond dësc:

    Quote

Nearly a century ago, P'aedt scientists working with Ver'ash engineers stumbled across a biological process that could be adapted to allow their ships to literally extrude carbon atoms around themselves , forming a diamond shell. Since then, Polaris shielding technology has been greatly enhanced, but many of the Nil'kemorya in particular still ask their Ver'ash cousins to modify their ships to also gain this armor advantage

RE: What is your primary development system?

Actually I must change my vote from Vista to OS 10.4 as I just bought a Mac and returned a PC.

RE: ARPIA2 discoveries: gövts, another quirk/bug

What if, in your storyline, you wanted to guarantee that the escorts you're assigned were destroyed when you went to kill the mission's Ship Goal ship?

...And 32767 would make sense if the variable used to hold that value were a "short integer".

EV: Renegade needs more ships. that is why I am asking you, no, giving you the chance to have your ship included in the upcoming TC: EV: Renegade.

I don't like the way you act as though it's a privilege. These people would be helping you, not the other way around.

RE: Few EVN Plug-In PC Questions

Bomb's Plug-in Guide* (which has now been taken over by Zacha Pedro) is a good resource. Also use the "All the Important Links You'll Ever Need" topic pinned at the top of the Developer's Corner page.

*Be sure to change the filters to "Show All" or you won't see all of the topics.

    RE: .rez opens in NotePad

@wonderboy, on Oct 11 2006, 07:54 PM, said in .rez opens in NotePad:

(Edit2): Ah, I notice that the other error is(when I put the file in a path that has no spaces in the name, but this is exclusive to atleast one file):
Warning: Unknown resource type "DITL" in file "C:~rEVxPatch.rez". Skipping...
But, C:\AbsoluteMinimum.rez opens fine. Why does EVNEW not like spaces?

I recall getting that error when Crusader was trying to send me some files that were saved as .rez on a Mac. That is, he was on a Mac, saving as .rez; I was trying to open them on Windows.

    RE: .rez opens in NotePad

    Directly from the EVNEW Readme:

    Quote

To create a file association for EVNEW with .rez files, perform the following steps:
    a. Open up any folder and click the Tools -> Folder Options menu
    b. Click the File Types tab
    c. After Windows generates a list of all file associations (this shouldn't take more than a few seconds), click the New button
    d. Type rez into the box and hit OK
    e. Select rez from the list, and in the box that says "Details for 'REZ' extension", click the "Change..." button
    f. Click the "Other" button and locate and choose EVNEW.exe, and hit OK
    g. Click Close, and you're done!

    RE: My Upcoming Plugin

I think the misn section of the bible goes over the heads of most beginners. At least it did for me. I find that studying the existing Nova Files is much more beneficial. Look at the bits for a sequence of missions and refer to the bible as you have questions.
