Hey all. To those of you who don't know me, I'm the guy who's desperately trying to install Escape Velocity Override. I would really appreciate it if one of you could possibly download one of the disk images, go into res-edit, and then use the Get Info command to open the disk image. Then could you post what the Type and Creator fields have in them? If you're wondering why I'm asking, take a look at the "help!!!" post. Thank you very much in advance.

Ambrosia do a CD containing a comprehensive set of their products. Wouldn't that offer a less painful way to get hold of EVO?
Alternatively, if you use the 'search' facility for this board, you'll find that someone (I can't remember who) offered to send disk images to a person in a similar situation, if postage was paid.
Final guess... get hold of a back issue copy of the MacFormat magazine (Future Publishing, UK). The cover CD has featured EV and EVO in the past, along with many other Ambrosia games. That's what go me into EV, and later O.
Where are you based, RNJ645?
Well, I'm based in VA, and yea, I guess it would make more sense to get the CD. But u know, I want to play EV Override now! The installation files are right on my mac, I just need to make it so the computer recognizes them. I guess I'll go for the CD anyway. Unless anyone else knows the Type and Creator? Anyone?
Seriously, can anyone spare a couple minutes downloading one of the disk images and telling me what the Type and Creator is (by using Res-Edit)? Pleassssse? I really want to get into one of those state of the art shuttle crafts.
I think the disk images are corrupted, I d/led them from the ftp site by themselves and it was corrupted. So I have another possiblity for you, you'll have to red/l EVO but get hotline (url="http://"http://www.hotlinesw.com")http://www.hotlinesw.com(/url) and connect to hotline.ambrosiasw.com there you can d/l EVO and the cool part about it is, you can cancel your d/l and then click on the file again to resume right where you left off. So you can d/l the whole thing.

Thanx, I have hotline, but I didn't realize that ambrosia had a hotline server. I'll try that out.
i did download it, but i need the disk images. Anyone else have a direct internet connection to their macs and res-edit? Anybody?
Alright, could someone just tell me if the disk images are from DiskCopy? I'd appreciate it.
Just open up DiskCopy and open up the disk images. DiskCopy should be able to read them if they have a .img extension. If not, open up DiskCopy in ResEdit, go to the BNDL resource and find the type code for images. That should fix it, but only if the image itself is not corrupt.

thanks tim, i'll try that. if that doesn't work, i am getting a cd burner, so i think i might download the full installer and just transfer it using a pc cd. i dunno, i'll try the disk copy thing first
