Now what?

Well... I just finished the Igadzra string (which, I am very disappointed by... all I got was a Plasma Siphon, which sucks as a weapon).... and now, I don't know what to do... I got the "congrats, you've finished 1/3 (I think this is what it said) of your objectives, affecting the strand war...... I've done most everything with the Miranu, and I can't find any more missions in UE space...

so, can someone help me out? Am I missing something in UE space? The last thing I remember is the little bit with the destruction of the Voinian Dreadnaught, and then getting the Cloaking Device.

Which reminds me.... is there any practical use for the Plasma Siphon?

Well, the other two objectives are the NPD missions and UE missions. All of them. The Dreadnought is one of the parts, not the whole. There are also the Emaghla, Hinwar, UE Cruiser and Pareen station mission strings. The NPD missions start I think at Kitrak in Miranu space with a mission to pick up some sensor equipment at Igazdra. Hope this helps.

Technically, you don't even have to blow up the dreadnaught to finish the UE objective. You just have to finish the Emalgha/Hinwar missions. Everything else in UE space is just side missions. BTW, you forgot the Huron string and the Needle Jammer string.

Ok.... to begin with, I'm not registered (a problem I plan to fix very soon). I've finished the Huron strong, the needle jammer, Pareen, etc.... and the Emalgha (which, by the way, is a crappy string... I wish there was more to do for them).... who are/what is the Hinwar? And the UE Cruiser missions?

and NPD missions? what are those? The Igadzra string starts at Kitrak (sp?).....

NPD: Nebula Penetration Device. Opens up new planets for exploration, a Miranu-led science project. Use the web board search engine if you want to read a spoiler - it's been discussed before.

If my experience in the Mavs system is anything to go by, that plasma siphon of yours could come in very handy during that string.

Good luck, Captain. I'll buy you a synthale...

The Plasma siphon is gud. It kills stuff.

Yes, but it's a bit limited. Basically, I use it in situations where I don't
have the carrying capacity to carry anything else, or whenever I get in a
toe-to-toe turret slugfest with crescent (i.e. not armored) ships.

You just have understand when to use it. It does pretty respectable
damage against shields. But it's so inaccurate, that it's only really useful
at very short ranges. Actually, that makes it a pretty good complement to
dispersal rockets, since you don't want those blowing up in your face.
(Use rockets until you close in, then switch to siphon.)

The Plasma Siphon is not as strong as they boast, (one of the many problems I fixed in my EV:O plug-in "Mr. Fix-it" It also includes abilitys to buy special weapons AFTER they are made, and you also can get more shield types, more armor types, just fixing some errors they made IMHO, but it was made when I had EV:O 1.0.0 so it is kinda dated!) So don't use the Plasma Siphon unless you have Mr. Fix-it which nobody does since I lost it on my harddrive but found it last week and actually started playing EV  for the first time in months!
