Best battle? I've had much too many, but my closest experience to death was when my armor actually reached zero percent from the destroying the renegade base at Pariah. All those needle missiles can be annoying, especially, if you don't have a needle jammer. Had to go into to cloak so I wouldn't be killed.

Most fun--I loved killing the Alien Cruiser in EV. I would use a fully upgraded Atinoda Kestrel with some escorts. The escorts kept the Alien fighters off my tail while I circled the cruiser, hitting it with proton turrets and proton torpedoes, then looking around after it died to see the wreckage.
Hardest-- Tag, You're It, also from EV, with an upgraded Maskirovka Corvette (great ships, those). Did it without Monty Python, just using hit and run. I think the shield regenerator saved me.
In EVO-- I'm trying to get the Rock misn in 1.0.2, using an upgraded Miranu Frieghter (beautiful ship, that). It was always boringly easy in earlier versions, esp. with my UE Cruiser. In regular EVO, my most memorable was fighting the Igazra in the nebula exploration mission string using a Toranto Shipyards freight courier. So far, though, Babylon 5 has provided the best battles. My favorites are Into The Fire and Severed Dreams.

Ever use dospect armor? That stuff makes you, like, invincible in Crescent space. I was able to destroy SEVEN Igazras while I was piloting a suped up voinian frigger.

That's about it, except I did it with a Zidara. Oh, I took out a Krait with my shuttlecraft today on a new Pilot, one blaze cannon. Rather fun knowing I could do that.
Update--Zachit gunboat missions. Well, the attack on the Rock has gone from boring to excellent. I got a gunship, christened it the Emerald City, upgraded it, and then went in. Twelve seconds after I popped in, I was dead. It took over a dozen tries and some refits to find the right combination of weapons and strategy. Even upgraded, the gunship cannot keep ahead of the fighters, though the afterburners provide a temporary escape. The trick was to boost defense to maximum, fuel to maximum, and use Miranu defense pods. That wasn't enough. though--I had to juke and jive to get away from the fighters when they surrounded me. I found that when they had caught up and surrounded me, the trick was not to use afterburners to get ahead of them but to reverse course, fire the afterburners, and drop defense pods on them as they passed by. I could take out a few fighters and also get them off my back for a moment until they surrounded me again, then I would turn around again. I had just enough strength to outlast them. After that, the Crescent Warships didn't have a chance. Good battle.
