.Ledges, PICT ID's and buying items

Please Help! Can someone please tell me:

--How you have a conversation say you don't have enough coins when ou try to buy something.
--What The PICT ID for a scrap of paper is.
--Why Ferazel won't hoist himself up on ledges. He does fine with ones I haven't made, though.

1st question, the readme says,
CONVERSATIONS

If no gotos are specified the conversation will be displayed progressing
in a linear fashion. You can think of a conversation as sort of a
very rudimentary BASIC program.

To goto a line and perform its actions but not display its text, enter
the negative of the line number in the "goto" field.

CONSTANTS

<arg>: argument specified in line action dialog

If conditions
-------------
1: true if player has <arg> coins or more
2: true if player has item of type <arg>
4: true if flag # <arg> is set
5: true if player permflag # <arg> is set to <arg2>

Action conditions
-----------------
1: remove <arg> coins
2: give player item of type <arg> <arg2: how many>
(1: silver key, 2: gold key, 3: plat key, 4: magic potion, 5: health potion)
3: remove item of type <arg>
4: set permanent flag # <arg>
5: set player permflag # <arg> to <arg2>
(1, 2, or 3)
8: permanently validate sprite <arg> on level <arg2>
9: destroy this sprite permanently
2nd question, I don't know, look in ResEdit,
3rd question, I don't know, from what you told me before, you seem to be doing everything right

1: Look at the conversations in the game. Also, The MASCOT Reference Guide Version 1 has a section a conversations.
2: It's not in the game. To see a list of the ones in the game, click (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/imrom/mascot/faces.html")here(/url).
3: I don't know. Is it a "secondary" tile? (such as ice or mine cart track)

3. It is not a secondary tile. I is the two corner pieces that you use to make a ledge.
Also, how do you erase stuff in the third level since there isn't a blank tile to use? It's used up with mine cart tracks.

------------------

I prefer not to erase with the blank tiles, there is a reason but I forget it. You can erase by selecting FG and moving over the tile you want to remove and press delete. Same thing for BG tiles. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a solution to our little hoisting problem!

Huh? I Don't get it. How is that a solution?

------------------

Maybe.

My thoughts: these blank tiles you were using to erase may not be as blank as they look. Let's say you have a blank tile placed above said ledge. If these blank tiles have any solidity, Ferazel might bump into them while hoisting.

Of course, I could be very wrong. It is simply a first thought, since blank tiles DO show up as black ground on the MASCOT mini-level map.

If I remember, the Harry editor had this same problem... "blank" foreground tiles would suddenly act as wall sections or display graphic glitches, and using the backspace key to delete would resolve this problem. Since the Mascot editor is a direct descendant, this is probably it.

Spamguy, you are a GENIUS! It works!! Expect my level set in a week or two.

One more quick question: How do you make a level the end of the level set, so when you exit the last level, it goes to the main screen? Also, what is the level info for makinggreen water bubbles not red?

1st question, all the info fields of the exit should be set to zero, the number for acid is 203 I believe, but it could be 201.

Help! I've got this wierd clam in the middle of land that won't go away, and doesn't appear in the editor.

Er...clam? A screenshot would be a big help here.

(A side question: where are these cheesy quotes at the top of topics coming from?)

Screenshot? Sure. Get it (url="http://"http://152.19.48.64/aftran/ferazel/shots.html")here(/url)

Thanks!

------------------

This had happened to me, but it went away. I think that what is causing that is something that looks like a greyish bar in Mascot, but that in Ferazel. Delete it, and it should go away.

What geyish bar? I don't see one.

I'm not quite sure what caused this in my level, but when I added a "Surface Glow" (one of the many unused things in Mascot, I guess) which looks like a grey bar in Mascot, the lobster arm you're talking about appeared. When I deleted it,(I think) the arm went away.

Cat99, don't take this as an insult, but are you sure you didn't put that in? That's an enemy from the game. The only way I've been able to get one is put one in from the enemies menu.

------------------

I'm positive!!

I tested it in an empty world, and it's true, the thing labeled "surface glow" in the objects menu in Macsot appears as a Lobster arm that doesn't move(at least in v1.0.2)
