Hey all, I used to hang around a bit ago, but have been busy with other projects lately. Looks like I missed a lot, and i'm truly interested to learn what's happened in my abscence.
right now, i'm talking with a guy about doing an EVplug. Full replacement, etc. etc. I know you're all thinking, "Oooh, big deal" yadda yadda. Difference: The guy used to work for SGI. Uh-huh.
anyway, I'm wondering if any has a rough timeframe on when EV 3.0 will actually ship. It'd really be, imho, kinda' stupid to program a replacement plug when a new game engine is about to be released. Of course we can re-render the graphics, port and expanding the story, but why bother with the extra effort? Much rather start with EV 3.0 if it's going to be out within the near future.

Considering that EVO 1.0.2 was just released a month ago (plus several days) and that the only things floating around about EV 3 are some pictures promoting it's transparency, 16-bit color, and a couple other graphical features (unless something else has popped up in the week I've been gone), I don't think we'll be seeing EV 3 final or even public beta till at least 2001.
------------------ One cannot walk down an avenue, converse with a friend, enter a building, browse beneath the sandstone arches of old towns without meeting with an instrument of time.
Time is visible in all places.
Clock towers, wristwatches, church bells divide years into months, months into days, days into hours, hours into seconds, each increment of time marching after the other in perfect succession. And beyond any particular clock, a vast scaffold of time, stretching across the universe, lays down the law of time equally for all.
In this world, a second is a second is a second.
Time moves forward with unwavering regularity.
Time is an infinite ruler.
Time is absolute.

EV3 will be out when it's done -- that's about all I can tell you right now.

Do the plug for EVO, I mean, it´s not like we won´t play EVO when EV3 comes out. There are still lots of people that play EV. It´s your choice though. Cya. -------------------------- If it´s quality software you can read "Made with Macintosh" (Hand written!)
