I keep having a problem with capturing ships. Whenever I succeed in capturing any ship, or even placing it as my escort, EVO crashes. I DO use 1.01 so that could be it. If anyone can help, please do.

Ok then, here's a more helpful answer (or actually, some questions)
Which mac? which OS? How much RAM? tell me a little about your chilhood No, forget the last one. I know that my old comp crashed when it tried to play QT movies, so it could be that. Disable them, and that should work better.
Else, I cant offer much more advice without knowing more about what you're using -- email me, or catch me on AIM if you want some help.

I have an old Centris with OS 8. I have around 32MB of RAM. Hope this helps.
Say, about those quicktime movies. I can't play them, basically cause my mac is pretty ghetto. I'm curious, are they any good? What am I missing out on?
Other than that... Ubermann, try upgrading to 1.0.2. There's a lot of bug fixes, and your bug might be fixed in that version. Be sure to retain a backup file of 1.0.1 in case 1.0.2 turns out to be worse... Oh, and of course you'll have to start a new pilot file (sucks, don't it?)

Try increasing your Virtual Memory so that you can allocate at least 30Mb as a minimum setting to the game. I suggest 64Mb of VM to start with. Make sure you leave some spare for the system to grow/expand. The game will slow down a little with VM turned up but hopefully it will overcome the crashes and freezes. Hope this helps!
