Some more EV3 sneak screenshots

Here are some more images from the upcoming EV3 to whet your appetite (please note that while we think these images look pretty darn spiff, they are still unfinished):

These are the last shots you'll see for a while (until we do an official preview in our newsletter, The Ambrosia Times: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/news/newsletter/")http://www.AmbrosiaS...ews/newsletter/(/url) )

Again, there is no release date announced for EV3 yet; we aren't even in beta yet (so we don't need any testers yet, either -- but thanks). No, it will not be networkable, but yes, it will be very, very cool. πŸ™‚

All I can say is wow. This looks like the next cool game to come out for the Mac after Oni, since Halo will probably be an x-box only game. :frown:

Hey andrew, do you need help beta testing it? πŸ˜‰

I just thought of a great idea. Make the storyline for EV3 similar to the Marathon storyline. Not with the same people and such, but in the sense that it has a huge backstory. Just go to (url="http://"http://marathon.bungie.org/story")marathon.bungie.org/story(/url) to get a sense of the story for Marathon.

People are anylizing the story down to figuring out to the nearest minute when the events happened. Which I think is pretty cool. That is one of the reasons I like Marathon. (The demo of Marathon has more of a plot than every Doom and Quake game put together.)

Just make sure to have some tru7h to it, however. πŸ™‚

And if you think I'm babbling on like an idiot, that's OK. I am.

Woah, I just went there and I was visitor 777777. What are the odds of that? =P

Most of those looked like Bryce scenes to me.

I thought the checkered tail of that ship looked kind of corny, but other than that I am impressed.

Fair warning, Andrew. There was an OLD commerical game that had a lot of floating cities that look LOADS like the one in the floating city image.

Of course, I doubt they can sue on grounds of copywritten floating cities, but if the image is too similar..

As for the game - all I remember is that the image from MacConnection/MacWerehouse was a lot of floating citys, maybe a ship flying between them.

Note that it might not have been commerical, or even mac.

The image is much older than that. MC Escher drew a similar symmetrical floating city. He might have been the first, he was pretty original. But this image recalls Escher, it recalls the earliest mirrored graphics made with computers. It recalls a lot of things. But it's still a striking image. None the worse for wear.

The floating city looks like the one from Fantasoft's game Realmz. They had a scenario called something like "City in the Clouds"
