I start this topic in hope that we can exchange valuable information and trade routes. Trading strategies are also welcome (if it exists!?). Here is my routes: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First Centauri-Liat (Don´t hire any escort before you got 100,000!) Buy food at First Centauri, then jump to Liat (First Centauri-Sol/Saali-Liat), here you sell the food and buy Ferstelisers. Head back to First Centauri and sell the cargo there, repeat. (It´s VERY safe, and you make money quite fast). ---------------------------------- I used these escorts here: I fleew a FE, two Voinian freighters, 3 Voinian H. Fighters (I had captured them). You need quite a loot of money for this one.
1.Buy Saalian brandy at Saali. Go to Lothe Prime(I think, independent planet, makers of Helian, near Igadzra). 2. Here you just stop to refuel(oh, you have to buy one fuel-tank). 3. Go to Rimor(two systems down), you will have to bribe in order to land at Freeport. Sell the brandy. Go back to Lothe Prime. 4. Buy Comfy Chairs here, then go to Aludra. 5.Land on New Tokyo, here you sell the Comfy Chairs. 6.Buy food and sell at Atlantic Station, in Liat system. 7. Repeat. (You will need fighter escorts on this one). ---------------------------------- 1.Go to Pax, here you buy Crass Worms. Then jump to Omm.(near Huron) 2. Here you sell the Worms, and buy medical (unless it´s higher!). 3.Go to Ariane, land on Telnan and sell the cargo. Buy Equipment. Go to Pax and sell it. 4. Repeat. (It is some what safe, and you will make tonns of money. It is also very good for those that don´t want to leave human/Voinian space until they have done the UE central objektive.) ----------------------------------- Easy. 1. Go to New Tokyo in the Aludra system. But Equipment, then jump to Pax. 2. Here you sell the equipment and buy Crass Worms. Go to Omm. 3. Sell your cargo and buy medical, then you go back to Aludra and sell the medical cargo on New Calecutta. 4.Repeat. ----------------------------------- Buy medical at Himgro, sell it on Munb, buy Munb leaves, go back and sell them at Himgro. Repeat. ----------------------------------- Buy food at First Centauri, sell it on Earth, buy metal, sell it on First Centauri. Repeat. ----------------------------------- Buy tourists(!!) on Earth, then go to New Rome in Talii system. Sell them here and buy food. Go back to Earth and sell your cargo there, repeat. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are all I will write for now, just keep it comming. Oh, I would like a little more text on the planet description. EVO lacks some atmosphere, on that part EV was a little better. I hope this helps new traders and other ones (like semi-traders), cuz it took me some time to write. I hope you will add more trade routes to this topic. Trading can be fun too, I think you should try it (if you havn´t already). Trading is a very good start, as well as it is fun later on. I you think trading is too easy, think again. Trading can be just as hard as...hmm, non-trading. It also lets you use ships that would be totaly useless otherwise. Or you could protect you fleet of trading ships, or hire escorts to protect you and your fellow traders. I hope you will find trading interesting. I actuly thought it would be boring at first, but I decided to try...and I found out that it wasn´t. Good luck.

Hey Shadow...I have one more for you. It is not exactly a trade "route" but it works just the same. You hang around Pax or other outposts and disable the Frieght Couriers or the Voinian Supply Ships(depending on which side you chose) that come in system. You steal their cargo and then sell it at the outposts. You can make decent money off this and it has a little madness and mayhem for those who are inclined toward fighting. Cya

I expected more replies, are there realy so few traders here? Jude, where are you? Remember this is not only for trade routes. What do you consider to be a good escort? Wich one is good if you got little money and want to hire one? And if you got tons of it, what would you hire then? What do you think of the Turncoat, now that the kraits have been improved(1.0.2)? Come on, post. Cya.
When I start the game as a trader, I like to use the Turncoat (as my 3rd ship, after either a scoutship or cargo transporter). They're cheap, reasonably strong, can haul a reasonable amount of cargo, and now that the Kraits have been improved, the Turncoat is much more formidable (usually, I use the Kraits to distract an over-ambitious Helian from attacking my fleet while I jump into hyperspace). Turncoats also excel at leading cargo fleets- one parting strafe from blaze turrets on the way out of a system can destroy any of those dinky Human renegades.

The Hatuli (Gribn-Thehir) route is a quick money maker that requires absolutely no jumping. Heavy freighter escorts make it profitable, otherwise there's no sense it running it with a single ship. It's also great practice for quick landing skills!
Slightly off-topic: EV has the best plugins for trade -- Pale & Galactic Scourge really make trading fun with all the weird "Specialty" commodities! EVO plugin designers, take note!

I like trading the weird specialty commodies in EVO, too, but it took me a long time to figure out where they were (and I still don't know where to find/deliver Hirinesses, Grasshoppers, and Sun Cream). It's fun to trade It's very important to know the destination for a specialty item because usually, there are only 2 places in the universe that will deal in them at all. The first time I ever played, I bought Brandy and Opals, thinking I could sell them in many places, and ended up carrying them around for a long time, using up precious space on my shuttle. Finally someone on the discboard told me where to sell the Brandy, and I lost the Opals when I upgraded my ship. Jude

You could simply open the "junk" resource in ResEdit and check the BoughtAt and SoldAt fields. That is quite a lot quicker than exploring. Exploring for yourself is much more fun, of course, but when you're stuck, you can go for the El Cheapo method.

I would like to add to what Xopher said about Gribn-Thehir, it is a dangerous route for small and weak ships because of the fact that it is constantly being raided by renegades. Plus its called Meiser's (sp?) Run. Thats all.
I like to have 6 MHF and do the Hatuli run. Using that, I think you get around 1 1/2 mill. per two runs but i am not sure. Anyways, i love it to death!

Since I am a fighting man, I like to go to Voinia and plunder anything that comes under my targeting computer. I use rockets that I get rockets from the fighters on the cruisers/frigates, and then pick up cargo and other disabled fighters. When my cargo hold is filled, I travel to Earth (usually), do a few food runs, and then head out to renegade country. Switching venues for killing and plundering makes it quite fun, actually.

The Emalghia/Lmeito is my favorite. I usually trade until I get board, then destroy as many voinians as I can find. I also like going to hatuli, and plundering renegades. The downside is, occasionally, 5 turncoat will show up one after the other, and although the battles are fun, They are annoying.

I checked and you get approx. 2 mill per two runs on the Hatuli-Gribn run if you have MHF. You get about 1.25 from Gribn to Thehir and about .75 mill on the way back if everything is normal. Killer!
Some people need to wash their gene pool
There used to be a map section on the old EVO site that addressed trading routes....

Heres one: Join stellar corp, get the saalian missions (Brandy smuggling) and before you leave load up with extra brandy. You get 250 000 for the mission and the extra depends on your ship. This can be dangerous though.
