EV3?

I thought that Ambrosia wasn't going to make EV3.And another thing,When will EV-Edit be compatible with 1.02?

Technically they said: "We will not be making any more updates to the EVO engine" (not the exact quote, but close enough)

EV-Edit never worked in the first place, so it being compatible with 1.02 probably wouldn't help much.

Don't use EV-Edit, there is a really cool and easy to use editor just out that works with 1.0.2! Its called Res Edit and the EVO Bible =P.

How true.

------------------
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door-
Only this, and nothing more."

EV-Edit is great if you know your limitations. DON'T make uninhabited systems, DON'T set visbits, etc. E-mail the guy and ask if it will be compatible. I don't know.

As for EV3, it MUST have a completely new engine if ASW's statement is true. That means they would have to start the engine from scratch on the engine. This is unlikely, so they probably lied when they said that.

And what, I'd like to inquire, are you talking about? ResEdit is an extremely stable, extremely good application. It is the best EV/O editor around, and the only way it can mess up your computer is if you (stupidly) work on your active Finder/System file with it.

(insert cryptic andrew welch comment here)

What they said was they weren't going to update Override after 1.0.2, but NOVA or EV3 is a completely new scenario.

Thats funny.. I use Ev Edit on version 1.02 without any problems.. I have a G3 / 266 desktop running OS9.04

Actually, I have a big problem with ResEdit. For some reason, once my plug gets above about 1.5-3 MB, EV crashes on startup, giving me that "not enough memory" message. I know it must have enough, since I've played most of the huge plugs at 20 MB of RAM and had no problem. I've always followed, to the letter, the ResEdit guide and the EV bible, but I can't seem to get around the problem. Could someone please help me?

You've almost certainly got a problem with your spďns or some part with the graphics. Check very carefully all the id#'s of the pictures and spins to see if they match up.

A way to check this, it might be kind of hard, if it crashes, but duplicate your plug, and first delete your spins and graphics from the duplicate, leaving the rest of the data, if this works, then you've isolated your problem, if not, delete some more things. Once you find the resource its in, then you can delete have the things in it, and keep doing that until you find the resource that is the problem. Also check recent additions you made that might have cause the crash, remember to make a duplicate or two of your plug though.
