I posted this in other forums as well:
You can include .mov files in EV/O plugs right? So what's to stop you from including Quicktime VR scenes? They're also in .mov format, and all the information needed to operate them is in the file iteslf, so you wouldn't need to monkey around with the source code. You can also like VR scenes to other .mov files, as well as web sites ad apple scripts (I think). Imagine landing on a planet, being able to look at a 360ű view of the spaceport, and zooming in to find a secret .mov that tells you where to get a special misson! It would add a whole new meaning to EV! For example, you would be ina spaceport, and you could zoom in to where a person was standing. When you clicked on the person, it would link to another .mov of him telling you how to get a special misson. It would be very, vbery knarly. With the link to websites feature in QTVR files, there could be a new concept to EV! You could link to a hidden site that included information or spoilers. Or even (heaven forbid), advertising. You could include a poster of a well known company, so that when you clicked on it, it took you to there website. It could make some developers in need of money for applications a tidy sum. This may have been brought up on the old discboards, if it has, and it has ruled out as an impossible dream, then forgive my naivety, I just thought it may be a pretty cool idea (Especially in conjuction with EV 3!).

That leads to another idea with real potential-Bar Scenes. Imagine walking into a bar on Lothe Prime, and getting a drink. Suddenly the door is broken down, and the Nadir walks in demanding (your name hear)'s head on a stick. Or, you could look at wanted posters, and by clicking on one, you could get a bounty-hunting mission. That definitely is a great idea, with lots of potential. However, it would take a lot of work...

It would be impossible to implement mission bits and EV resources in with the .mov file, to do that you would have to muck about with the Quicktime source code (at risk of being sued by Apple) and with the code of whatever programme you've been using to make iit in (at risk of being used by the products manufacturers (sp?)
Sweet idea, but there are some slight problems and details. You can only get movies through missions, so you'd have to accept or complete one first. Each movie would need to be linked to a mission, and that's a little problematic. Even more problematic, I have no idea how you could have interative movies without messing with Evo ssomehow. It's dangerous. And, you risk probablility of being sued. That was said already though

I don't quite see how you could get sued. Apple have no problems with you including Quicktime fiels in applications, and as long as you created the .mov (or had permission from the creator) I don't see the problem.
I can see why you think that linking the movies would be a problem, but it should be tried. There's no harm in trying...
