Downloading Plug-Ins....

I tried to download a few Plug-ins recently (F-25, Flak, etc..), but none of them worked! On Netscape 4.0, it either shows a page of crap, or downloads a file that cant be opened because it's not a "valid archive." or "may be damaged" On AOL, I get the same result ("may be damaged), and same with Internet Explorer 3.0. I tried each internet browser like 8 times each, everyday and i get the same thing. Very few plugs work during, but those are small files. It's files like f-25 that always get damaged, and then flak plugs who also get damaged or show a page of scribble. Help! Thanks.

some poeple don't test their plugins after they stuff them, that may be whats's causing the "damaged file" thing your having, as for the page o' ****, save it to your destop, and unstuffit.

To help ensure that your plug is not going to be corrupted you should always test it, even if it involves uploading it, and then d/ling it again after it has been approved. The best format to use for compatiblities sake is binhex, this will work on all platforms, including the server, so it doesn't get corrupted. So tell stuffit to also binhex the file this will add a ".hqx" to the file.

Also when uploading, please omit all spaces and characters except the a-z and 0-9 and _ (underscore).

hmmm. I'd really like to get to the bottom of the problem you're having -- I have been able to download the plugins just fine, as have a number of other folks.

I've had the exact same problem, except not with the same plug-ins. I've been able to download F-25 fine, but when I try to get Magma, the exact same error occurs.

Is this from our web site or the Magma web site? So you've got the file fully downloaded, but Stuffit Expander won't extract it properly? Can you give me details please?

If you try to open with Stuffit Expander, nothing happens. If you try to open it with stuffit lite or AOL's unstuffing program:

Error Message: The archive "F-25" does not appear to be a valid archive. Do you wish continue working with it?
Click "Yes"
Error Message: Sorry but a disk related error (Unexpected EOF) has occured.
Click "Ok"
Error Message: This archive is damaged.

Perhaps it was compressed with a newer version of StuffIt than you have? Have you tried the latest? I just downloaded the plugin and it decompressed OK.

Can anyone else here chime in if they have downloaded this plugin successfully or not?
