... because with a UE Cruiser, you can easily capture Igazras (75% chance) while the other way is not. So you can have a UE Cruiser with 6 Igazras escorts, which just kicks it in terms of fighting any bugging Azdagri or Voinian, and the other way is not possible. So, I'd say, long live to the UE cruiser (I hadn't flown one of those since long, I did today with 1.0.2, and let's say I'm really under the charm )
I totally agree (though I prefer warships: lotsa fighters!). However, the Cruiser has a weakness that you see at the end of some mission strings in the 1.0.2 update: it gets eaten alive by swarms of turbo-charged hyper-agressive fighters. For example, I had to get an Arada w/afterburners to take New Alcatraz in the Huron string (Augh! a bazillion kraits! Getemoffme! Getemoffme!). Right now I've tried all sorts of weapons combinations, yet my Cruiser becomes pirranha food within a minute of trying to destroy The Rock in the Zachit string.
I'm going to try capturing a fleet of renegade warships for my next try, to exploit the sprite limitations.
Hm.. "Got space mine?"
hmm... "Got space mine?"
I hadn't thought of that. I had never found a use for mines before. A Cruiser is certainly tough enough to use it. It damages everything within a certain radius, correct?
Maybe you should try to use the miraneu defence pods. They do not hurt your ship but they pack a punch if you release 8 at the same time. I have quick observation/ question about the miraneu defense system. It releases in salvos of however many launchers you have. But, it also seems to fire these salvos at a faster rate the more launcers you have. It seems this way at least. Once when I fought the dreadnought I fired over 100 pods in less than 10 seconds. This is a much faster rate than that described on some web pages.
