You need to improve the ambient lighing conditions; the graphics look too depressing. I like your designs in general, just not the lighting conditions.

I agree. The ships are really cool but very dark, so much so that it’s hard to identify them on first glance. Apart from that I’m impressed; the different view seems to work pretty well, it completely changes the face of the game. Nice job.

That's three of us now. The lighting is poor indeed, but everything else is quite good.

Magma seems alright, if a touch on the dark side. It seems to be an issue in Project Nebula as well; the 'grey' 😉 ships are are slightly underlit.

I think I'll hold off on the download until I accumulate enough graphics requests for Project Nebula and use my PN dev team credentials to beg for another Meowx CD

i agree with everybody, the ships in Magma are much too dark, i cant see when people are shooting at me!

OK, yes, the graphics are rendered kinda dark. If you don't like it, just turn the brightness on your screen all the way up. Then it's just as good as normal EVO. At least, it is on my screen. I wouldn't have made them so dark if there wasn't a way to fix this for those who don't like it. Sorry if you think they're depressing, I guess my ships just turn out evil looking! 😄
Hope you all enjoy it, hopefully you'll be able to download it from the Ambrosia site soon...

Even when I crank up my brightness so much the black doesn't look like black anymore, it STILL looks too depressing (and no, they don't appear menacing, just depressing.) You really ought to increase the ambient lighting other than that, it's a great plug, but the sounds ARE a bit weird all I don't like is the lighting conditions.

And my gamma is FINE, BTW.

Just a few comments:

1: (I'll avoid the obvious and I already increased the brightness the second I got the plug)

2: Shuttlecraft seems like a truncated Falcon from FH. On purpose or by accident?

3: You just changed the ship, outfit, and planets, but not the stations? At least I haven't noticed a change in the stations.

4: Tractor beam outfit is a recycled and ?slightly? modified picture from the Quantumire plugs. Not a complaint, just an observation.

Now a question or two:

1: Any thoughts for a second release with stations and perhaps landing pictures?

2: Did you know that "metamorphosis" on the MAGMA page is missing the "r"?

Thanks for your reading time, your personal time, and your bandwidth.

One cannot walk down an avenue, converse with a friend, enter a building, browse beneath the sandstone arches of old towns without meeting with an instrument of time.

Time is visible in all places.

Clock towers, wristwatches, church bells divide years into months, months into days, days into hours, hours into seconds, each increment of time marching after the other in perfect succession. And beyond any particular clock, a vast scaffold of time, stretching across the universe, lays down the law of time equally for all.

In this world, a second is a second is a second.

Time moves forward with unwavering regularity.

Time is an infinite ruler.

Time is absolute.

I've never even played FH, I looked through the file with ResEdit once, but no I don't even know what the shuttle looks like. It's modeled after the one in EVO.

Nope, the stations are the same.

No, not slightly modified, the exact same picture. I thought it looked good enough for the plug, so I stuck it in.

There will definately be a MAGMA 2.0 when EVO 1.0.2 comes out. I'll make whatever additions that are needed to make 1.0.2 graphics better, and also probably lighten the ships up. And I'll make new station graphics. Maybe some landing picts too...

No, I didn't. Thanks, I'll go fix that right now.

Thanks for the input!

-david-, thanks for clarifying on those items.

And as for the "r", anytime. I'm always happy to correct other people's Ms. Steaks (ha ha ha).

Wow that is Sweet! This is exactly what EVO needs, it sure makes playing it far better, if we can get people to do plug ins with these graphics(if you let them) then it would really improve the game!

I love your new plug-in. I didn't find the graphics at all dark. Maybe my screen is brighter then the rest of you peoples. But anyway wicked ships, planets everything!

All that is really needed is to make a plug-in "MAGMA compatible" (which I think will become rather popular). Just by not replacing any standard ship graphics.
