Disco Bison?

I've heard a lot of stuff about the Disco Bison. What is it?

Yes, I am an agent of Satan,
But my duties are largley cerimonial.

A mauled Emalgha freighter with a mauled Emalgha turret. That's all I know about it.

The Disco Bison is an insane Emalgha Warship with way too many turrrets and some sltolen Igadzra technology. Unless you have the forklift, stay away from it at all costs!

Naaaah, it's really friendly until you attack it. At that point, you're dead.

Well, that's how it's always been for me, anyway.

Were can I find this Disco Bison. I practivly live in Emalgha space (those little things are SO fun to kill when you're in a Voinian Crusier) and I have never seen it.

You can find the Disco Bison anywhere, but it shows up about once every five hours of play or so. It has about five times the shields of an Igazra, it carries about 500 SAE modules, and it machine guns can blow away and Igazra in about 1 - 2 seconds at very long range. If you want to try to capture it or destroy it, have six Igazra as escorts, have a needle jammer and and ECM system, and start you attach from a long way away.

Ah, the infamous Disco Bison. I remember the days when EVOers were discovering the Disco Bison for the first time, so was I.

It's an Emalgha Warship with 5000% shielding over the stock model It has two Disco Machine Guns (not very high damage, but a longs range and a VERY VERY high rate of fire), it also carries several SAE Lauchers and plenty of SAE Modules, enough to make mincemeat of several Voinian Cruisers, UE Cruisers, and Igazras.

He's nice if you leave him alone, he does hold a grudge, and he can be killed. It just takes some practice, and a Zidagar ECM helps out a lot since the SAEs don't work very well if you have that.

I rember when I first saw the Disco Bison, I tryed to attack it with a Scoutship
Stupid, and I was very sorry, but now I have a Cresent Warship.

Heh, my advice is to copy your pilot file before you try anything and load up with lots of SAE's. You'll only take it out from long range.

While we're at it, has anyone managed to take out the Disco Bison and if so, how did you do it?

I have taken out the Disco Bison using the strategy I mentioned in the reply above. I have even captured it once, but when I did and made it my own ship, it reveted back to a regular Emalgha warship. So unless you have a plug-in that allows you to keep the extras from the Disco Bison, it is really not worth the trouble. By the way, you probably need about 160 SAE modules and three SAE launchers to be able to take out the Disco Bison. Or get the forklift weapon.

Does anyone know of a plug-in that allows you to capture the ship and keep all of the extras?

I pity you poor mortals, I have a cresent warship with SO MANY WEAPONS (I have 425 blaze cannons alone!!!!) and can kill ANYTHING I HAVE MET SO FAR (haven't seen the disco bison yet though) in less than 5 secends! πŸ†’ πŸ†’

That's 'cause you cheated. 425 cannons isn't physically possible.

To sncatc: You are a dumbass (repeat 100 times)

BTW, if you're a good enough pilot you can kill the Bison at close range with guns. You just have to keep ahead of his fire.

You have to be a good pilot to pull it off though.

Also, you don't need a plug to get the Disco Machine Gun, just create a new Outfit resource for it.

The Disco Bison is cool though, when I first saw it I thoght it was a mess up in the game.

My cheating friend.. You will be so dead when you see some of the new AI. Expecially if you go near Azd space. Those Azds will just trash you. Unless you fly Voin tech, but no cheater is typically that smart.

Thanx.

Matt said that a group of Karits should be feared and that would mean Azadaras should be run from. Yes, you can kill the disco bison. No, it is not easy. The first time I did it I used a souped up Igraza(sp)and lots of their sad modules. I have also done it in a Azadara with the exp. shield reg. You have to make very fast passes at him in kind of a half circle. Use auto pilot to kind of sling shot your way around him all the while shoting at him. If you go fast enough it should keep his guns right behind you but they won't hit you. Make sure that you are far away from him before you turn around to make another pass. It will take awile but he should eventually fall.

The Disco Bison has:

1 Disco Machine Gun
5 SAE Launchers
500 SAE modules

The Disco Machine Gun fires 30 shots per second, each shot being more powerful than the En. Neutron Turrets on the Voinian Dreadnought. The shield modification is 5000% of 50 sheilds, or roughly 250,000 shields. The Disco machine gun fires faster than a phase turret, so it is very hard to dodge. Wanna beat it? Here's a tactic I used to beat it with a junky ol' Scoutship no less.

1.) Hide behind an asteroid for a long long time (CAPS helps) until all those boring SAE's are gone.
2.) Buy 999 Needles, and get pretty close and keep shooting him. With any luck, many will hit. Next, simply make VERY FAST passes at him with 3 phase cannons. It takes a long long time, but you can beat him.

Of course you need to ask yourself that considering he has 0 CREDITS, why bother?
