I just got trading rights with the Miranu, started a mission that involved exploring a Whatchamacallit (the thing below where the rebels are) and I'm stuck! i went to get a soil sample or sumthing like that, ran out of gas, and not I'm chilling on a unexplored planet that no ship goes to, and without any fuel scoops! What do I do?! and I need some help conquering planets too... Thanx!!
Sorry, you're screwed. The only thing you could do is edit the code of your pilot file. I don't know how to do that. So if you figure it out, tell me. The fuel level should be in the ship resource. And the best way to dominate planets is to give your ship two fighter bays, more if you can fit them. But I don't think there is a ship in the game that can. Anyway, hire a lot of escorts, like crescent warships. The cheapest way to do this is to land on the planet you want to dominate, and hire your escorts there. That way you only pay for the hiring price, and one day of service. Also, if you can get 32(?) fighters into the air before you attack. Then the planet(or station) will not put up any defenders. That last comment is explained more clearly in the help guide that came with the game. Also, if you want free Escorts with power, get a really good ship (i.e. UE Cruiser, or a Crescent Warship), and then go to the North Tip, or south tip, and disable all the Renegade Warships. DO NOT DESTROY THE FIGHTERS!! Ignore them. Just disable the warship, board it, and capture it.

You need a refueling stop - mail me, and inside the week I send you a plug that will let you refuel. Don't be embarrassed - this happens to everyone.

Actually you can destroy the fighters. Once you land all your escorts will buy new fighters without costing you a single credit. At one time my escort fleet consisted of 1 UE Cruiser, 4 Azdagrai (sic) warships and 1 Crescent Warship. If you don't do the Azadgrai thread, I would recommend those as your best escorts - no long range weapons to potentially destroy a good ship to board and tons of fighter escorts.
As to dominating Planets - I would only recommend that you do that on Pirate worlds - any where else and you get too many people upset with you.
