Which gate? Have you passed through a tomb like place yet?

I have also problems with the tome of elixirs. It should be somewhere in High Garendall, but there is only the Symbol of Garendall and a cave. Inside the cave, there are 4 levels down, on the last level, there is a closed gate, which says I need a key to open it. Where the hell should I get it?
I have only 2 quests now - crush the giants and get the tome of elixirs. I thaught the giants can be crushed with the help of the Pillars of Garendall giants, which can be activated via a magic ritual using the completed shield, for which I need the third dragon tooth, which I will get from the elf mage if I bring the tome of elixirs. So - I cannot move forward with the former quest if I don't finish the later. But I don't have the key nor any idea where to find it...

Wrong way.. go back up the the ruins, and on the far west and far east side of the city there are caves. both are to the same cave that goes down to the tome

From the Northern Territories tunnel, go west 2 screens, then north 1 screen(it will change from a forest/grassy landscape to a rocky landscape). There is a temple on this screen, as well as a cave. Enter the temple and exit it on the east side. When you exit the eastern temple, go to the screen to the east, follow the mountainous path across the bridge, and go to the screen to the north(where the bridge leads to). You will then be in the ruins.

Correct, the key to the temple is on the third level in the learning tree. To gain access to this level, you need to follow the "Order of the Seasons" questline to its completion, which culminates in getting the ritual shield into your possession and being given the tome of elixirs quest. When you bring the shield back to the druid he will send you on a quest to find an evil ring. When you complete this quest he will give you access to the 3rd level, allowing you to enter the ruins of High Garendall and complete the tome of elixirs quest and the Knight's quest.
ive talked to the druid when i have the shield, but he says the same thing
I have 161 hp and keep dying. I have 82 armor and am using Elven Claymore. Any suggestions?
Get a better weapon, possibly the Dwarven Runic Sword. Get a Holy Cloak, Boots of Lightning, any ring from Kalixa, and a good shield (armor 7 or better). Get more stat potions. When you have these, go into the very northwest corner of the Ghost Swamp. There you will find a crypt; get the Divine Lamp there. Once you have it, get Elven Full Plate from Wyrm Valley. Build up your stats and your levels; get the Necklace of Stone, and the Lilith Shield if you can. And keep trying.
There are threads in this forum which will tell you how to get the Dwarven Runic Sword, the Divine Lamp, and Elven Full Plate. The Divine Lamp thread is on Page 1 and is titled "Divine Lamp". The Dwarven Runic Swordthread is on Page 2, and titled "Dwarven Runic Sword & Lilith Shield". The Elven Full Plate thread is somewhere; it should be on Page 3 or later.
