I'm so confused as to what I'm supposed to do in the plains of Endlesswind. I know that the order of seasons was once there, but I have absolutley no idea what I'm supposed to do there. I'm pretty sure that I'll probably only find anything usefull in the ruins, but I'm not sure what to look for. I also have no clue as to who I'd find in the game that would tell me where to go. But instead of giving me hints, just spoil it.

Of primary importance is to locate the Cave of the dwarf. Assuming you came down South from Berglum, continue down south to the river then follow it westward. You will come across a bridge, cross over and continue south, you will come to another river with a bridge, cross it and then turn east. You will find a cave. Go down two levels and find the Elf. Talk to him. The rest unfolds from there.
Another thing of interest is to find the Tunnel entrance for the Plain of Endlesswinds. It is in the area before you cross over the first bridge(Just to the west around a screen of trees.)

(Oh yeah, actually, about the bridge over the river, actually, you will need to cross two briges before you find the Elf's cave.)

the elf's cave is two screens right of the plains of the endlesswind tunnel mouth.
it the cave of the order of the seasons and you must have this quest from the learning tree

Thank you both very much. Yeah I have the quest called Order of Seasons which I had already found in the learning tree. I just didn't get any information about a cave in the game, it just said something like "In the great learning tree you discovered that the Order of Seasons was once situated in the Plains of Endlesswind(?). Perhaps you'll find something blah blah etc...
I hope that this won't affect my trying to talk to the elf. One more question, what are the monsters like down there? I'm only level 16 w/ 95 hp. I was fortunate enough to find the mushroom on my own while on this level (16). I'm a page and I've only had one permanent increase in my luck and in my strength each. I'm not sure what my actual stats are. I was just wondering if the beasts are anywhere near harder or easier than the monsters in the Varandeep passage (which I can get through with a little bit of difficulty).

if i remember correctly theyre easier, i think theyre rock imps and spiders but its a one way affair cuz he teleaports you out.
you should have no problem. but save first cuz well you know.
I found the cave with the elf on the plane, but all he does is tell me to go away and play somewhere else. He won't talk to me. What am I doing wrong?

You need a quest to search for the word "orders" in the learning tree, then search "order of seasons" that order is what the elf belongs too. he will then talk to you once you know his order.
Many things need to be searched through at the learning tree as you play. also you can search past posts and you may find other answers to problems you have.

I'm still looking in vain for the cave of the dwarf. Found the witch and the witchtree entrance. Found another cave with four (I think four) entrances and exits. But cannot find the cave of the elf. someone please walk me through it. Also, I killed the cyclops still can't warn the guards. What did I do wrong? Thanks

the cave with the elf is two screens RIGHT of the tunnel enterance marked "Plains of the Endlesswind enterance"
the cave with four exits is the trolls liar.its southwest of the elf cave
post cyclops killiing go back to the city and speak to captain of the guard for Dernath

Is it the cave at the bottom of Vandereep Lake marked by the X on the cheat map? Inside the cave is a rope bridge that seperates two exits. If it is I can't find the elf.
No its above Vandereep Lake. If you want to know where it is go back to the upper cave entrance follow along the edge of the water to the east until you come upon a small patch of beach go directly west until you come to a building. This building is pink termite rest. From this building go 1S then 1E in this screen is the cave entrance.

The X's on the map is just were my guy was when I took the pic of that section. Since you do have the cheat map, you should be able to see the ruins in the plains of endless wind, on that same screen is the cave.
