I thought there as a falling out. Pestering is pestering, but Ben was Banned. There was some sort of dispute and then, voom.
Ben got another job in Arizona. Rumours abound that moki started having friction between he and Spees following that, or even the possibility that Spees did it because of moki.
Since then he has moved once more to somewhere else, making PC games.

Continuing my rumour mill from above: yes, Zelda and Ben do indeed have deeper relations than moderator-developer. The two did in fact meet by chance at a Minnesota Safeway prior to the game's release. Zelda revealed the enticing and uninhibited details to me recently:

Zelda: "You are unfortunately quite mistaken...look, this Dreyer's Chocolate Chocolate Fudge Vanilla Chocolate ice cream is most undoubtedly in my cart, which you have in front of you."
