Thok's Xichra Challenge

I want you to load up a game on the standard levels where you can go fight Xichra. Then you gotta beat her. After that, you gotta beat her again without getting game over inbetween. And again.

How far can you go without losing?

So the challenge is, Who can beat Xichra without dying the most? I'll pass.

Oh gosh!! What fun fun fun!! After that, we can see who can poke a sharp stick into his/her eye the furthest!! Yep...torture is definitely fun.

It's not so much torture as Sisyphean effort. Sisyphus was the cleverest king ever lived. So clever that he outsmarted the gods. His punishment was to push a rock up a steep slope and the watch it roll down again, repeat for eternity. The only difference is unlike a pointless repetitive effort this is a competitive pointless repetitive effort.

So, since you have subtlety hinted in prior posts at your excellence in the field of battle with the Dread Queen, what's your record Thok? Watch out sinclair your scores about to be zapped of the charts.

How about a challenge with more variety and fun, like how far can you get in the original Ferazel's Wand levels without dying? I place all my money on MonsterLady to win this competition. Personally I beat the Dread Queen only once, and I never felt as though it was necessary to repeat it. She is called the Dread Queen for a reason. Fighting the Dread Queen multiple times is like taking over all of Sol in Escape Velocity. Who needs it?

I realize that this post may seem ruder and snipier than I intended but some how your challenge stuck a very sour chord with me. Please don't take it personal. Have a good day.

In response to Thok's original question - now that I know how (V-blade Zichra when she's down), I can beat Zichra pretty much every time. (Hope you don't take that as bragging - took me three years to figure it out!) Can't always finish the game because work interferes (quit game when phone rings) (Isn't self employment grand!).

In response to Emperor Ent - I'm flattered that you think so. I "ALWAYS" die on those stupid up and down spike balls in the first ice level, (actually, got through on the first time once but I was so surprised I forgot to save and the phone rang and I quit the game) so if I do all the other levels first that's probably as far as I'd get!

I'd like to see how far I could get without saving, but usually only play the game in 5 to 15 minute increments, so would probably only get as far as the Eastern Reaches before having to quit.

OT- for Zelda and Spamguy - I know this forum is supposed to be just for Ferazel's Wand, but would it be okay to start a topic where the regulars here could post what they've done on their summer holidays (vacation), sort of a Ferazel's Wand "Just Chat". I like most of the people here whereas on the regular Just Chat there are some less desirables who tend to run away with a topic! (FW - the civilized forum). Thx, ML

No, it's like trying to take over all of Sol at the same time with a plug that doubles the defence fleets of every planet.

Yes, I'm exaggerating a little.

How about you can save, just never die, that makes more sense after all.

What does OT mean?

I second ML's proposal, here here.

OT means "Off Topic". Sorry - a little AOLspeak slipped in there!

I'm fine with it. I think a little more leeway is necessary here because we haven't a banter board. I only object to topics that would be better placed somewhere else. But in this case...you're only interested in what the Ferazel board posters would respond. So again..go for it!

My most recent beating of Xichra (fifth), I decided to be nice. I only used one rez necklace, one health potion, and one smite ring, and lots and lots of seeds. How little stuff used can you beat Xichra with?

You win. I need at least 50 Ziridium seeds, 5 rez necklaces (I suppose if I'd have been quicker on the health potions I wouldn't have needed the rez necklaces, but the total would still have been 5) and 3 smite rings.

Try the other challenge - how far can you get without dying (that includes using rez necklaces). My biggest challenge is the Up & Down spike balls in Flash Freeze - they get me almost every time.

Darn, you guys have it nice over here. If I asked about posting an off-topic topic while within a different topic on the EVN board, I'd be called a flaming idiot by a dozen people, karmaslapped, hog-tied, strung up, bound & gagged, tarred & feathered, and finally iLocked. I suppose having such a slow forum should have it's perks.

You forgot about being thrown into a pit of boilng oil and then cannibalized. 😛

We are a little more flexible around here. As long as it doesn't get blatantly stupid or there isn't another board that will suit that topic. For instance, political debate belongs on Just Chat. Just Period. But you have to understand that the EV boards has the B&B; to post all those chatty off-topic subjects on. Our community has no such board. Therefore, you shouldn't ever post off-topic subjects on EVN because you don't need to. Which means you would deserve any and all negative repercussions that would result from any such attempt. 🙂

Yes, however they usually end up flaming you several times, karmaslapping you (in rare cases, twice), and THEN locking the topic. For a first offense, the lock would (usually) suffice.
