i am really stuck on the first ice stage at the part where you have to jump across the huge cliff. i think i have tried everything but i could be wrong. can i get some help here?!?

I think you mean near the end of the level. Have you just come through a passage? If you have, on the side of the passage just before the jumps, there is a double speed powerup (a blue, spherical thing). Grab it and run (by holding down the (default) shift key) to the far left of the platform, then to the right again and at the last moment, jump. When you land on the other side, make sure you don't skid right off again. THEN, on the (rather narrow) ledge, WALK to the left edge and then run right again, and jump... Repeat this process untill you get to the end (five jumps from beginning to end) and you'll be one passage away from the end of the level!

Examine each ledge you come onto... there's something interesting around there...
