More Dr. Tall

I am stuck in the ice world; having completed Frozen Heart and An Old Friend, I can't figure out how to proceed. Bill says he will send me a message but what do I do until then? I only just harassed Dr. Tall himself about something else, I think it would be rude to email him immediately... I have an extra platinum key that I kept instead of using it to get the multicrystal in River of Sneers, and also an extra mist potion; do these help me at all at this point?

Go back to Frozen Heart and go to the guy who owns the spa resort thing. Ask him if he has any messages for you. He'll say yes, (to get him to talk to you properly you've gotta find the locket for the limping Habnabit. (Over to the right.)), and give you a 'VIP admitance slip', which will allow you to move on to The Executive Shaft. If you haven't reached The Executive Shaft yet, go to the limping Habnabit, go right and past the yellow guy, contunie going right (through the room with the two Wraiths), ignore the guy sitting just outside the door and then enter the large, fancy passage. There will be a sign and after the sign the exit to The Executive Shaft.

The Mist Potion should be used in River of Sneers; use it at the far left and go through the wall, even further left. The Platinum Key can be used to open the door leading to The Tree Trunk (also at the far left) if you haven't done that already, otherwise I think the only place I found to use it was for the Multi-Crystal...

Thanks!! Actually I've gotten into the Tree Trunk level and done all that, and I used the mist potion to go to my left in River of Sneers. I think the platinum key is supposed to be used for the door to the big ziridium pool in Tree Trunk, but it seemed extraneous to use it because I'd gotten there another way already (by falling through the acid pool on the left of it). I guess I'll keep 'em for now...

------------------

...I used another mist potion in Sneers, that is. The extra I have is one of the two I got at the beginning of the main part of Tree Trunk.

------------------

Mist potions are never given out for free. There is a clear and specific purpose for each and you jeopardize your game to waste them. I don't see how you could ever end up with an "extra" mist potion. I suppose that if you opened both doors in Tree Trunk using the same potion, you could end up with an extra. Is that what you did?

That's considerate of you, but really, feel free to e-mail me any time you like. 🙂

That's what I did - used one myst potion in Tree Trunk to get both the buttons. That extra Myst potion came in handy in exploring new levels.

Yes, I was able to hit both switches with one mist potion in Tree Trunk. If you meant to put them farther apart, sorry.... 🙂

Um, is anyone willing to give me a clue as to where the Sam Hill the exit is located in Colossal Climb? I've got my stupid fourth shard and everything... I would just like to get out and move on! >P

------------------

What does "Sam Hill" mean or is that your word for "where the heck" ?

Well, to find the exit, just go up, up, up! 😛
How far are you? There are several places where you have to find secret holes in the ceiling to progress. And at the very end, you've run out of time so you can't get past the rock barrier...

I think people used to say "what the Sam Hill" instead of "what the damn hell" or just "what the hell." I've *tried breaking through ceilings in several places... (sigh) Will try again.

SPOILER ALERT

When reach the end, there's an area where you can shoot through the wall to get to the exit. 🙂

Got through, thanks, guys... And now... I shall beg help yet again. In Horse with No Name I don't know where the button is to push that will allow me out of that underwater corridor. The gate below me is open, but that doesn't do me any good. I tried to get up to the spot with the magic upgrade crystal and the teleporter, but I don't seem to be able to bust through it or anything. And I can't see anywhere that my extra mist potion might help me. ...Help?

The button is at the beggining of the level. When you get the walk-on-water there are little patches of water in the air to your right. Go across those but be careful! Make sure you land on the water because the ground tiles are overlay

The underwater-passage (if I'm thinking of the same one as you are) is a clever little trick Tall put in. Just wait underwater for a very long time, battling monsters, etc. and using Health Potions as infrequently as you can. When your time runs out, the barrier at the end will open.

The button Overrider was referring to is what opens the door to the Magic (or is it health?) capacity increase and is purely optional.

Oh, poop, and here I've been so proud of how many health ptions I've hoarded...

Thanks again. 🙂

------------------

You're upset about the number of health potions you lose in Horse With No Name? It's only about 3-5 if I remember correctly. You'll be in for a big surprise when you reach Xichra's Mountain........

Although that's no reason not to be proud of your stash. How many potions do you have? If I recall, I peaked at around 15 during my alpha tests.

POSSIBLE SPOILER::

This is a hint but it reveals part of Xichra's Mountain. Don't be too quick to use health potions to save Rez Necklaces. Try to keep them about equally balanced. You might be very very sorry later.
