Minor issues

I've only been playing PoG for a couple of weeks now, and I find it to be
all around a beautifully constructed game (graphics, story, map, etc.)
with a few minor annoyances.

Has anyone else had odd graphics problems in the first level of the
Learning Tree? Periodically, when I enter that area, I get a blank screen
with my character on it and he'll act like a paintbrush being dragged
across the screen when I move him. Weird. 😕

How about delays when you save? I've had as much as 5 minutes delay
between the time I hit save and the time the Save dialog box pops up. I
usually don't have the delay and really can't duplicate it on demand, but
my machine just hangs there with a watch cursor until the dialog comes up.

I'm happy with the intuitive nature of the game and the basic in-game
documentation, but I'm disappointed that the Journal functionality isn't
documented within the game on the help screen -- this would be nice as I
just read the manual and figured out how to use it.

It's a little odd that the player character's look doesn't change more
based on the armor/weapons that are equipped. I know there's the
pike/sword/bow graphics, but when I equip an axe or morningstar, those
should look different, IMHO. And I think the character should look
different when wearing different classes of armor: none, cloak/robe,
leather, chain/splint, plate -- or even base the appearance on the level
of armor worn.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is some of Ambrosia's best work yet and
I'm looking forward to more from Coldstone -- I've always been partial to
the RPC genre anyway.

Cheers! 😄

ive had both of these problems. the thing in the learning tree is called an HOM, or hall of mirrors. and ive also had the save delay problem. i think theyre both problems with my OS. im runnin PoG off of 8.6, but when i play it on my friends computer with OS 9 it runs like a gem.

ive also had these problems (im running 9.2) its a memory problem and if you increase the amt of mem avail to POG. it should help.

this is where i read it and increasing mem seemed to fix it for me.

And when I enter the Learning Tree(maybe only the first time after each opening of PoG) the Ground Data(?) doesn't get loaded and I get graphics echoes or character paths.
My guy, the monks, the chandelier, the sparklies, the chest and the status bar leave their images on an all black backround.

Both of these are playable but ackward.
