I've just gone up to system 9 from 8.6 and I can't open Ferazel. It keeps asking for the CD. What's going on?

a) insert the CD because the prefs file was probably removed when you updated (or, if you kept 8.6 around, then the prefs file is not in the startup system's prefs folder)
The game will only ask for the CD the first time it's opened (which is determined by the prefs). After that, it will no longer be asked for.
I remember how long I stuck the CD in every time I played...and then one day I forgot, and the game launched anyway
