Please release the Ferazel editor!

Sorry if that offended you. Yes, my language acted as if I were the Ferazel Messiah and you were merely mortals.

I offer an apology.

Is there any way I could get the editor?

I promise I wouldn't give it to anyone or annoy you by demanding bug fixes.

Torture Andrew?

Ping Spamguy's connection?

Hack into Ben's computer?

Promise to eat as many bugs as in the editor at the next MacWorld?

I couldn't do that, I'm a vegitarian.

PLEASE RELEASE THE EDITOR!
How could it harm you to let people make levels??

What about just releasing the editor "as-is", but make people swear not to annoy you about the bugs?

Or releasing the file format so people couild make a 'TMPL' resource and create levels from ResEdit or Resourcer?

Or releasing it as open-source?

Or making people swear on "Inside Macintosh: Macintosh Toolbox Essentals", The Bible, and Harry Potter book #1 that they wouldn't bug you about the editor, write "I will not annoy Ambrosia about any bugs I find" 600 times, and eat a bug (or a rubber one for vegitarians) before giving them the level editor?

Or are you going to stall the editor's release until someone gets really angry and breaks into Ben's house to steal the source code?

You really want this thing don't you? Well, let's see; you live in NYC, I'm in upstate, Ben is in Rochester... Hmm. 🙂

Andrew, Ben, if someone asked really kindly and was very serious about this, would you sorta let the editor slip out of your hands? It could under the table. No one would have to know. I think people like Burnum and aschaaf_86 would be willing to pay. 🙂

Maybe we could team up and do it together. 🙂

Hmmm. I guess I should be more polite.
Yelling doesn't seem to do much.

PAY?!? I already payed $30 for a game that came in a flimsy little cardboard envelope with no manual!

Andrew or Ben:

Would you be willing to give me the editor if I wore a Habnabit costume for halloween and one of the MWNY 2001 days?
It would give you lots of free publicity.

What about letting people who really want the editor such as Burnum and myself have it, but make them sign an NDA forcing them to not tell anyone that they had been given the editor?

Then people who really wanted it would have it, and you wouldn't be swamped with questions about it.

I think Ben's either dead, or he locked himself in a closet until the first alpha of Ragnarok is ready. Either way, I doubt he's gonna' hear you.

The light of day? What's that? ...I apologize for not really dealing with the editor issue. If anyone wants to email me about it now, feel free and you'll hopefully get a faster response. I've been pretty busy with Ragnarok (whose progress log I just updated, in case anyone is interested.)

I'll be having another look at the editor sources this week. We may release it in its unfinished form, unsupported. We'll see if it's feasible.

By the way, anyone who wants to volunteer to help out others trying to figure out the editor, is welcome to.

I will gladly help all with the editor, given its release. The documentation leaves out quite a bit that could be covered.
