FerazEdit 1.1 Released!

The Resistance Software Group is proud to announce the release of FerazEdit 1.1, a full-featured saved-game editor for "Ferazel's Wand".

FerazEdit can edit the health, mana, score, coins, and inventory in a saved game. Every item and spell available within the game (and some that are not!) are accessible though this editor.

FerazEdit was previously available as a public beta, but is now in full release with new features. FerazEdit is freeware and can be downloaded here:

I have attempted to address the few issues that were brought up here in this release. The new version has a few new features, some bug fixes, and does not expire like the beta that was released earlier. Please send any questions, comments, kudos, or complaints to me via email, or just post them here.

I'd like to see an option to NOT SHOW the inactive items.

Also, I'd like to see a hack... er, modification of F'Wand that allows the user to "Summon" a power up, perhaps one on each per level, or maybe summon even just one power up per level. That could come in handy. Except for the death power up.

Oi?

Well, the aforementioned program, Game Doctor (well, it was mentioned way back in another thread) won't really do what you're asking (you're asking if there's a way to add a spell to your inventory during the game?) but it will help with some stuff.

Oh, just in case someone didn't know, the death powerup isn't really a death powerup. It only takes off 8 'blocks' of health, so if you have more, you won't die (this was done probably because when you first get to The Dig you shouldn't have more than 8 blocks of health yet...I think 🙂 )

That would not be difficult. So instead of disabling them, just make them disappear? The window might look kind of funny with all of that empty space though... I'll try it and see how it looks.

That requires something more complicated, since you would in effect have to find the data in memory for the game. It could be done, but it would require some knowledge of how the data is stored in memoy while the game was in play. I've written some basic utilities that "poke" around in memory and see what is there, but I wouldn't know what to look for in the case of power-ups.

I made a version that hides the slots for invisible items. It looks strange to me though. Email me if you want to try it out.
