I have just released FerazEdit 1.0b1. FerazEdit is a full-featured editor for modifying your saved-game files. You can:
(1) Edit Health (2) Edit Mana (3) Edit the number of coins (4) Edit your score (5) Edit your inventory
Number (5) is the main function of the editor. You can change Ferazel's inventory to have any item or spell, and any number of any item as well.
This is a beta release. I expect there may be some minor bugs. If you find one, please email me and tell me what it is so I can fix it.
You can download the editor shortly from the Ferazel's Wand Cheat Centre. The URL is: (url="http://"http://members.home.net/phazr/Ferazel/")http://members.home.net/phazr/Ferazel/(/url)
Adam Wild will be maintaining this site, and I will be updating the editor as needed. You can contact either of us if you have any questions or comments. This beta will expire in June, but I expect to have a final release that does not expire long before then.
An alternate download site is here: (url="http://"http://software.theresistance.net/")http://software.theresistance.net/(/url) (under freeware)

The above one will give you an error file not found. Apologies to those who attempted to access the page that wasn't present.
Problem solved. Any of the urls linking to the FWCC work properly now.

Hmm, when I try to give myself the Ice Crystals spell, it doesn't work, it just gives me the Ice Wall spell. :frown:

I don't have a saved game that has the Ice Crystals spell. If someone has a saved game with this spell in it (that they got in the game), stuff it and email it to me, and I will fix it.
I'll do it. Just give me a second or two to find my game
I sent it to your @home address, you should receive it soon.
I did some testing with the file that Neil sent to Adam (thanks Neil!). It seems that you cannot have an Ice crystal spell and an Ice wall spell at the same time in your inventory.
If you set the first slot to ice crystal, and the second to ice wall, you can use the ice crystal spell until you switch to the ice wall. When you then try to switch back to the ice crystal spell, it has turned into an ice wall spell as well (giving you two).
Very strange indeed. Does this correlate to the plot in the game at all? Has anyone had both Ice Crystal and Ice wall at the same time?
I am curious if it is possible to have both spells, but it seems that this is either a bug in Ferazel's Wand, or else it was an intended feature.
I have noticed a few other bugs in the game. For example, if you have too many Multi-Crystals strange things happen. ------------------

So I have to know, is anyone usng FerazEdit? How do you like it? I've had 500 downloads since I released it late Sunday evening, which is not bad.
I saw one reference to someone who "Ferazedited" their saved game. Anyone have any comments (praise, criticism or suggestions welcome)?
If I go a week without any bug reports I will update my documentation and release a non-expiring version 1.0.

Well, I think the program has a really refined interface (took me a few seconds to figure out that hitting the control arrows would switch the menus between spells and items ) There's only one 'problem' I can think of with the program. It's when you're messing around with a saved game file and you quit the program, it doesn't ask you if you want to save the file or not (not really a neccesary feature)
Other than that it's a great program!

I have nothing but praise for FerazEdit - thank you!! I have been stuck in Ends of the Earth for two weeks because of Sprite memory running out. I used your editor and put my inventory at the bare minimum and FINALLY I could use the tree trunk spell without Sprite problems and finish this level. I AM SO HAPPY TO BE OUT OF THERE! One thing I noticed - for anyone who's been having this same problem - is that, with the editor it worked fine until I picked up a magic crystal - then memory started to run out again. That seems to be the source of the tree trunk/sprite mystery. I just started over and left the crystal behind and had no problems after that. Thanks, again for the editor!!!
