Hey, what if Ambrosia cut a deal with New Line to bring EV to the screen? this in no way is meant to convince ambrosia, it is just an idea.
Here are my thoughts:
This game has tie-ins to the american civil war, so lets run with that. First, we start of with our charicter for now, lets call him "Chuck". now, in the beginning, chuck and his best friend, who let's call "Skipp" are in the Naval Academy. Chuck leaves the academy on his own, and, through a lucky battle with Hector the pirate in front of a high ranking Rebel officer. Chuck is inducted in with the rebels, and quickly climbs the ranks. however, during a battle with the confederation, he is captured and brought in front of the leader of the feds, who is (dun-dun-dunnnnn!) Skipp. Chuck is thrown in jail (normaly he is killed, but Skipp took pity on him) and is busted out with the rebels help. he then is involved in the greatest battle in history, and like in the game, has to blow up the space station. he blows it up, but has to go through Skipp. He blasts Skipp with a missle after throwing off a slightly humorous one-liner ("yippie kye-aye m**** *****r" like thing), and Skipps Ship is thrown into the Feul supply , and the space station blows up. very downtrodden because of the loss of Skipp, He continues on into the stars, looking for justice.
Of corse, the movie would be more in-depth than i was, especialy on the Chuck-Skipp relationship. for casting, i would avoid big action stars like stalone or the governator, or even vin-diesel. i wouuld go with a relitive newcomer.
Of course thats just my opinnion, i could be wrong.
what are your thoughts.

Even though it sounds really cool. I don't really want EV to be made into a movie unless it was done expertly. I don't want it to become some crappy overbudget movie over CGd and crappy looking.

Just for the record, the American Civil War happened back in the mid-1800s.
As for a movie based on EV, I think it would be horrible. First off, EVN is a better universe to do a movie of, but even then, I doubt they'd get it right. They'd just want to get money and it would be a crapfest.

I think there's already a movie called "Escape Velocity." I remember watching 5 minutes pof it and then changing the channel.
