Can anybody throw some light on the Bounty Hunters that pursue me across the universe. They seem to have more lives than a cat.

I did wonder about that, about the same time I threw a missile at a Kestral from the UGexp, by mistake in the heat of battle, it became neccesary to finish him off, no key for aplogies on my key board. Being pursued does make life a little more interesting. Thanks.

No. mrxak is correct: they will only pursue you if you dominate a planet. The more planets you dominate, the more frequently they show up. For me, it got to the point where they showed up in every system. I swear, I destroyed enough Kelstrels to make any other Bounty Hunters Guild go out of business.
I understand it now, I find it stressful when accepting a mission to clear away the Confeds from a system only to be met with the bounty hunters as well. Still i'm holding my own. I must ad that taking plants that have rejected my advances to land gives me great pleasure. Watching the credits roll in is not bad either. Finding difficulties with those Rapiers, they are good defenders, someimes wish I had minders of the like. Tel me, seems to me that I have completed all the major missions, taking planets is fun ,but what do I spend all this money on, I have the best ship available, is there something more that I can expect?
I always thought that it was unfair when I was pursued by bounty hunters just for capturing a Pirate station.
BTW, if you have a Lightning, you don't have to worry about Bounty Hunters...
Yes I agree bounty hunters for doing the universe a service, does seem rather unjust. You mean having a lightning as an escort , is that right? I have captured a couple from the bounty hunters,but, they steam straight into Confed Cruisers the moment my back is turned and get creamed, same with Kestrals, had a few but last only moments after capture,such a waste. Just had a fun time taking Barnard guess the BH will be waiting in the wings as I return from a WC break. This late night soap is becoming a bad habit.
You're forgetting which pirates actually control those bases. It's whatever pirate that can dominate the planet and hold onto it. The bounty hunters are just going after the biggest pirate.
