Like many I aslo played EVN at one time but I kept comeing back to classic EV. Why for one resone I liked it simple. For me EV was simple and I liked it because for some reson every time I played it was a new excitement. So I am asking if anyone out there likes the classic EV better then EVN?

While Nova offers many more features for expanding the game (plug development), I've always been a bigger fan of the original EV myself. I grew tired of Nova during the beta process and was totally burned out on it by the time it was released.
But EV on the other hand? I come back and play it constantly.

Nova takes itself too seriously, I think. It's a Serious Deep Sci-Fi game, and it sounds like it's trying to be an Isaac Asimov book. EV Classic was really tongue-in-cheek; it was a weird mash-up of different science fiction references and spoofs. As well, EV Classic is the only game in the series that really lets people build their own empire. In Nova, and EVO especially, the scenario almost gets in the way too much.

I do like nova, but I also like EVO and EV lots better. And there are many others who are like me. In nova, probably the most annoying thing was the fact that the scinario kept jumping on me. It is almost imposible for me to be an honest trader, a mission string is sure to force itself upon me. And I dissagree that EVO was like that. In Override I was able to earn plenty of money, get a good ship and upgrade it, and start a string when I felt like it.
------------------ Cmon people, the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number;=20&SUBMIT;=Go")Chronicles(/url) are worth looking at.
I was never rely an EVO player. I could not find any excitment in it(probubly didn't give it a chance) but it just didn't have spark for me, I didn't rely understand it, that was the problem.
Also can you play two storylines in EVO?

Sure. Override doesn't limit you to a single major mission string per pilot. While siding with one government will certainly disqualify you from doing another's missions, there is always something else to do thanks to Override's large universe.
I love Nova. EV certainly has a fond place in my heart for being the first, and EV Override was very good as well, but Nova brought in too many features to ignore, the graphics were amazing, and the universe was huge. As a plug-in developer, I'll go with the better engine. And I liked the storyline. I know many of you didn't, but I thought it was excellent. If you want to talk about storylines to the exclusion of all other factors, I think I'd go with Override. If you only want to talk about ease of play and simplicity, EV wins. If you look at everything, Nova has to win. No one game is perfect, but each one is special for some reason, and the series kicks loads of ass. I think we can all agree on that ;).

I prefer EV to EVN mainly because I don't want to have to slowly gain enough credits to buy a massive warship to have a chance of taking out those capital sihps, whilst all the while my character is having a massive emotional overload and is constantly querying the morality of his actions. I want to bait kestrels in a shuttlecraft!

I like EV better than EVN also. I thought the orginal ships were cooler, and it had more minor storylines. Also it's storyline didn't make it seem like you were superhuman by the end, you were just a good pilot.

The ships are almost all tubes! I'm sorry, but when I relized that it almost ruined the game for me. I've since gotten over it, but I still think it's kinda dull.
I especially liked EVC and EVO for that reason, in nova I get the feeling that I'm somebody who is special and better than everybody else. In EV/O I play an ordinary pilot, who happens to be in the right place at the right time, and have the right ambitions. And as it just so happens, If I'm not carefull I may never get any missions, where as in nova I got the Vello's story line forced on me when I was a happy Terripin Trader.
I also liked Escape Velocity Classic better than the rest. I first started playing it when it came on my beloved MacAddict CD. this game is in my top 5.
btw, is there a EV Online rally i can join on these boards?

Hey! I found EV on a mac addict CD too! I still remember that......... dreamy reminesing look
EV off of MacAddict CDs... Ah, yes, that was when I always had to force quit because I didn't realize that command-Q would do the trick. Damn, I was a moron.
