Both Rebel and Confed. Strings?

Is it possible to do both the rebel and confederation strings in the Nova conversion? I ask this because I'm sure you couldn't in the original, and yet it almost seems you could, because I have already done the rebel supply mission, and every so often now I'm getting the Confederation supply mission, which I've refused twice because I want the rebel string. Can I still do the rebel string if I accept it?

The easiest way to find out is to backup your pilot file and accept the Confed supply mission. That way, if it locks you out of the Rebel string, you can go back to your original file.

If I recall correctly, it is possible to to the supply missions simultaneously. You only get cut out when the missions get more advanced.
