It takes forever to destroy an alien cruiser with only 3 laser cannons (I would've swapped the sheild enhancer and capacitor for a javelin launcher, but I needed to use the tractor beam all the time).

No plugs.
1 mass expansion gives 10 tons of free space, plus the 15 free tons a shuttle normally has gives 25 free tons. 3 laser cannons (15 tons), a sheild capacitor (3 tons), a sheild enhancer (2tons) and a layer of armaplast (5 tons) totals up to 25 tons. Everything else is weightless.
Just a quick question; how much did the shield upgrades help on the shuttle? I thought about using those 5-10 tonnes for the Javelin Launcher...
In any case, way cool! You haven't thought about making a recording with Snapz Pro or something like that?

Sheild upgrades give 1.5 units of sheilding per upgrade, which is piss-poor, and the recharge unit increases your recharge speed by around 0.06% per second, which is again utter crap. I used the javelin launcher for the rest of the game but when it comes to the alien you have to use the tractor beam at all times, therefore eliminating the use of a javelin launcher. The sheild upgrades were the best way to spend the 5 tonnes that didn't require use of a secondary weapon.
(edit)making a recording of it would be pretty dull. Essentially all I did was to get to the back of the ship, use the tractor beam, get to top speed whilst still tractoring it in order to outrun the fighters (tricky but possible), and then hammering away at it with laser cannons before reaching the edge of the system, where you have to turn around and do it all over again (the best way is to turn before you hit the edge of the system, because if you do that then you can turn whilst holding onto the alien with your tractor beam. If you hit the edge of the system the alien flies off your beam and then it has a chance to zap you with its laser. how did u get the trackter beam?
Side with the Rebels and hang around Palshife, Alkaidon, and Clotho Prime. Good egg or Upstanding Citizen. Have a Ultimate combat rating. The first mission starts by taking a spy from Earth back to Palshife. A mission will pop up after a while.
You have to had done the smuggling and inserted the Commandos on Luna.
After that, just hang out on Palshife a lot.
