Well, to sum it up, early on, I wasn't having so much trouble with money, but now I get to Berglum, and what do I see? Tons (literally) of expensive armor, weapons, fancy elvish gear, &tc.; I could probably do this the hard way, a.k.a. kill many little guys, & get the regular small amounts of gold they drop. However, I was chatting to ArcAngel Counterstrike on IRC last night, and his words were something to the effect of, "yeah, you can get elixers that boost your stats, first get 2M gold coins"... Me: "did you say two million coins? AA: yep. Therefore, there has to be some way to get coins, other than killing enemies left and right. (I say this because PoG hasn't been out for a year, so AA could have added drops of 30-40 gold ad infinitum...:p) What is this magical source of moolah? Can you file for chapter 11 Bankruptcy in PoG? If you can't answer this, than anyways; What are your fav. sources of money in PoG? Do you favor small easy critters that drop only a little gold, but don't tax the potion supply? Or are you the type that likes a challange, and just has to finish that earth golem off, (which by the way drains me of most of my health potions Financially strapped, ~Nate

I dont belive im the one that said 2M coins, but I think I agreed because in overall to make my hero ultra powerful that may have been the end amount. But i usualy got about 100K a hunting trip. I realy didnt start leveling up tell i got to reef island, the monsters are plentiful but rather strong in the beginning. but they leave up to 90 gold and extra equipment. But in the beginning, hunting little critters that you can kill easily is the best money source because if your too busy buying potions you dont make as much cash. Takeing on larger beasts that you cant handle with ease are the xp source.

Sea Giants are also a nice source of moolah and skill potions, but, if you're beating them down, you could just as easily beat the game.

Now why would you want to go and do something as silly as beat the game?? The stronger you get the more powerful you become, the more you can brag
ArcAngel, Not that this has anything to do with the topic, but, How do you get to the other side of varandeep lake? Also, what were the stats of your hero when you were killing sea giants w/out taking damage? How about now? And finally, how much GP do see giants give you when the buy the farm? Cordially, ~Nate
Just a note on money, I too was strapped for cash at times. Actually, of all the complaints people have had about getting killed at low levels, that's not been my experience. I just have had to wait a long time to get potions and equipment.
At a higher level, I found the best way to make money was to kill minotaurs down south: you can come out of that southern tunnel (South Coast Entrance, I think), kill a bunch of minotaurs, and get a few minotaur scythes which are worth 900+ gold when you sell them. Then you can hop right back in the tunnel and go to Berglum or Witch Finger to trade stuff, and sleep in the inn if you need to. I also found the minotaurs relatively easy to kill, compared to giants and even Liliths, they don't beat up on me too much, just enough to keep me busy.
Also, the tent you get from spoiler is a HUGE money-saving device, no more potions to heal up. Just clear a screen of all the monsters, then camp out for a few hours, you're all better. Even works in caves!
How the heck do you get to reef island? All the folks in town are complaining about the reefs but I can't seen to get a quest/get on the boat.
Thanks

I found a way of getting decent cash from small fry!
You can get ~100GP fairly quickly using this method, without using up too many potions!

SPOILER*
You need to know about Reefs Island (by finding out about it at the learning tree, I think). Then a new dialogue option will show up when talking to the ship captain in Berglum. This will open up a new quest that culminates in the ability to travel to Reefs Island.

 How'd you get that much money? Without getting enough exp to be more than L23?
How much experience do giants give?

with 100 luck mosters drop alot more stuff more often so theres more to sell, and giants are 3000xp
I see. The problem then is getting to 100 luck?
Do this to get money.
Go to reefs island find the stone circle thing that when you walk in the fairy looking things scream and then about six of them come after you.
Kill them Save the game next to the stone circle thing Load the game and walk back into the stone circle thing and the six fairy things will come again. save, load, kill, save, load, kill...
To get lots of Skill points do this (and lots of money)
go into the tomb that takes you to the northern territory. Find the secret room with the treasure chest and the 3 skeleton guys with swords. Kill the 3 skeleton guy's save next to the west wall Load and kill the 3 skeleton guy's again. save, load, kill, save, load, kill...
Monster Names
"fairy things" - Liliths
"skeleton guy's" - Death Knights
lynkali, could you let me in on the tent secret? (a.k.a. a spoiler) After 6 hours, I can't seem to figure it out. I'd like to be able to abscond with the gal whose "furniture" I helped move However, I don't think she would agree to the idea &tc.; Let me know. Tired and looking for a place to rest, ~Nate
SPOILER
Talk to Decimus after you've warned the garrisons. He's got a spare soldier tent. Use the tent in an area with no monsters (either because none spawn there, or because you killed them all) to fully restore your health. It can be used more than once of course.

I'm making a Garendall Beastiary with all the LT information and my own. It'll help with monster confusion.

Just keep pouring whatever gold you get into luck potions. The benefits are easily seen with just 10 to 20 extra luck when fighting medium sized monsters. You need 100 luck to consistantly get stuff from Sea Giants. Skill Rings(Ring of Gods +3 to every stat, 15000gold :)), Armor of Stone and skill potions.

Kanddak answered this for me. So, just talk to Decimus.
