How do you "conquer" a planet? I see all these posts about conquering; does it just mean overrunning the government there or does it actually become yours?
------------------ ~Matt http://www.geocities...2000/index.html
Hahahahahahah. Overcoming a government! Hahahaha. It is impossible to overcome a government unless you take over all of their planets. Now, basically, once you have a Combat Rating of Deadly, go to a planet that you want to conquer, click L, then Y, then click on Demand Tribute. In capital planets fleets, it consists of big ships, not fighters. If you can take over Earth, I would like to hear it.
------------------
Not with rapid-fire forklifts could you do this. It is folly.
Well, nearly. I always get bored.
------------------ Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, seven for the dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One Ring for the Dark Lord on his dark throne in the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. J.R.R. Tolkien
But most planets get enraged when you demand a tribute. If what you're saying is to do that, then kill their ships, does that then mean they will pay homage to you?
Not only that, they will pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (tribute) to you every time you make a jump to another system! Unfortunately, one of the bad aspects with dominating a planet/station is that you'll find yourself hounded by bounty hunters. Unless you're in a completely empty system, DO NOT fire on them! Even when they fire on you, don't fire on them, otherwise you'll be attacked by (whatever system you're in)'s gov't ships. Unless you've a large fleet with you (such as when ordered by Rebellion High Command to dominate Earth), you're either in for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong battle, and/or you're doomed from the start.
Good luck! ~Ace

I had all the systems except the supa hard ones dominated at one time. In order to do that you need mad skillzz.

There's a plugin that turns bounty hunters into shuttlecrafts. Get that and you won't have to worry about the consequences of your violent expansionist actions.
Yeah, you'll be living the good life.
I've dominated every planet except Earth, Stardock Alpha, and Ruby. I spent eight hours kicking Earth's ass before I gave up. The way I figure it, I would have to spend 12-13 hours fighting Earth before I could defeat them (based on the fact that it took me exactly four hours to dominate Sirgil Starport with rapid-fire forklifts, and Earth's defense fleet is over three times as large and has stronger ships.)

I dominated Earth. I made a topic somewhere back there that explained how I did it.

Q. What the hell are those forklifts
Q. Destroyer E. do you think you can link that topic in this post? I would like to see your methods. Anyone who dominates Earth is a God and must allow me to worship them.

A. This is a forklift.
However, in the sense of EV, this topic explains about the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/001579.html")forklift(/url)
It's certainly one way to take out ships quickly, but it's widely considered a cheat. Do what you want. It's a free country. Exercise that freedom.
A. (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/001230.html")Here's(/url) a topic where Captain Whitehawk explained how he conquered Earth. There are other explanations there. One of the most popular methods is to max out the system ship number, by getting as many escorts as you can, and then launching so many fighters that the planet in question can't send out many ships. Really, the secret to dominating any planet, including Earth, is ultimately patience.
Edit: A.0.1. I believe this is the topic Destroyer E was referring to: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/002810.html")I did it - I took over Earth!(/url)
Good luck to you.

Thanks I will use those ideas.
Remember, I completly cheated.
If you use the Asteroid Beam plugin, rember this: I made it so you could blow up asteroids. And on the next version i will edit it so that the defence fleet has at least one. The plugin will be harder to play because the defence fleet will be clear. You have to use auto pilot...

Make the astroid beam less powerful, and more credits. I feel guilty about it sometimes.
Where can I find this plugin you speak of?
